Urban Decay Moondust Eyeshadow in Diamond Dog Review and Swatches

Two people in the space of a week mentioned an eyeshadow to me, ‘Diamond Dog’ (can’t forget a name like that!) from Urban Decay – I knew i had to hunt it down and get a look at this shadow.

I wasn’t disappointed.

They say: This dazzlingly sparkly shadow innovates with a chic feel and not a single speck of chunky glitter. Microfine bits of iridescent sparkle collide with intense, dreamy hues and lush, 3D metallics for an effect that’s out of this world. And since Moondust has minimal fallout, the sparkle stays on your lids (and off your cheeks).

The ‘Moondust’ eyeshadow range from Urban Decay is a super glittery range of shadows – that’s not unexpected from a colourful brand like UD and glitter eyeshadow is nothing new – however, as soon as I spotted these shadows in Debenhams it was LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

On a side note; it seems to me that Urban Decay has ceased to be sold in Boots which is why I had to trek to Debenhams to see the range in person.  This is a shame as I wanted to get it with my Boots points!

There are 7 colours in total in the Moondust range.  I also loved the look of Zodiac (smokey black with blue-green tones) and Stargazer (gold).  They are ALL very shimmery and glittery but grown up – the texture is buttery and creamy, there’s no grittiness at all.

Diamond Dog is indeed a stunner – a cool toned brown full of silver sparkles. Is it taupe-y? There’s an edge of taupe in there. Love.

Swatch – did I tell you this is like butter? There’s almost a wet look slick feel to it, it’s that smooth:

If there was ever a wearable day glitter, then to me, this is it.  A really pretty brown that’s so sparkly – it looks amazing in night light, so twinkly.

On my eye – not layered, so this is fairly subtle, it can be layered on.

LOVE. I need more of these glorious glitters in my life, they are unique enough to warrant purchasing (I rarely buy solos unless I think they are unique).

I paid £14 for this from Debenhams but the range is sold quite widely online, such as on Beauty Bay for £14 each.

Have you ever tried the Urban Decay Moon Dust range?
