Tony Moly, a Korean make up brand in the more affordable price bracket, have been catching my eye recently; they’re new collections are cute and interesting and they’ve got some interesting dupes for expensive brands (which I will show you later!).
I couldn’t resist this cute collection, the Summer Bikini range which has a selection of eye pencils, eye crayons, lip sticks, tints, blush.
I have the Summer Bikini Tinting Blusher in 01 Pink Hawaiian, Summer Bikini Duo Seaside Liner in Suntan Brown and Seaside Stick in 03 Leopard Bikini.
One of the key features of this range for the eye products, is that they are waterproof and have a gel like, gliding texture.
I like the packaging, it’s plastic but sweet! Tony Moly like a lot of Korean brands switch packaging and look from collection to collection which means they could come up with absolutely anything they want!
Thoughts on each product – Summer Bikini Tinting Blusher in 01 Pink Hawaiian (also comes in a bright orange). This cream blusher feels very soft and creamy to touch. The colour is a light pink coral, too light for my tastes – on my skin it’s borderline like a highlighter in fact! I wish it was that little bit deeper to add colour to my cheeks rather thank looking like a milkshake-finish type colour. It sets but doesn’t last long, (no blusher does on me!). So really texture is great but this product is only for light skinned girls otherwise it doesn’t show up.
Summer Bikini Duo Seaside Liner in Suntan Brown is a dual ended eyeliner that is waterproof. On one side is a brown with gold particles and a warmer gold with sparkles also. Texture is fine although it wouldn’t transfer on to my waterline. A decent pencil though, good for when black is just too harsh.
Seaside Stick in 03 Leopard Bikini is one of 6 eyeshadow sticks. It’s really quite fab – I have a LOT of eye crayons, i find them quite irresistible really, but a lot of the colours are samey (neutral, shimmery, chocolate brown etc.) I have nothing else in my existing collection like Leopard Bikini which is a really really orange based GOLD. It’s very pigmented and very very glittery which I personally love! Also once set, it lasts.
Swatches – crayon, eyeliner and blush:
Eye look with the shadow pencil and eyeliner. The blush is hardly visible on me!
I love the eye crayon so much that I am buying more shades, in Floral Bikini (a pink) and I might even buy the blue shade and dark brown too if they have the same depth and shimmery goodness as Leopard Bikini.
