Scented peel off nail polish? Honestly? How OLD ARE YOU? Might be what you are asking yourself right now.
Look, here’s the thing. I am old enough to know that i have no time to do my nails. With two kids my hands are full constantly and I don’t have the time to wait for a base coat, polish then top coat to dry. It always smudges then I can’t stand it and remove it all. When it does last, I can’t be bothered taking it off and being left with dry nails…no I am not patient with my nails t all.
So when I saw these Tony Moly Sticker Nail polishes in bright fun colours (sticker nail = peel off) I thought..why not.
My experiences with Korean branded polishes are so so. They sure do come up with a lot of new ideas for colours and textures but in my experience they are quite quick to chip. Luckily they are a few pounds each so it doesn’t bother me too much.
I bought the whole set because they were on offer for around $2 each which is cheap! So I picked them all out. The colours are fun and colourful, nothing subtle here.
They are also scented too! It goes:
01 (Pineapple) – White with chunky silver glitter
02 (Blueberry) – Lilac with some white and black particles
03 (Kiwi) – Green with black particles
04 (Banana) – Cream yellow
05 (Orange) – Cream bright orange
06 (Lemon?) – Bright pinky red
07 (Pomegrante) – Hot pink with silver glitter
So a few pointers with this polish.
It is THICK. Like glue. Some peel of base coats I’ve used are a pile of pants and are essentially just PVA glue. I am pleased to say despite it’s thick texture and someone tricky start it is pigmented and covers evenly. YOU ONLY NEED ONE COAT IT IS SO THICK.
Once dry, impressively, it lasted well. I have had peel off polishes just fall off my nail the following morning (more on that later) so I was impressed that once dry, this polish lasted a good THREE DAYS without chipping. Make the coat as thin as you can to make it last. The places I needed some top up are where I managed to catch my nail on something like a zip though.
How does it remove?
I am really digging these polishes at the moment because they are:
1- A one coat step – no base or top coat required and they are so thick you only need one layer. Also they do NOT smell like regular polish which is great as I won’t irritate the kids lungs with the smell of nail varnish.
2. The colours are vivid and fun. The scent is cute and not overbearing.
3. They are cheap.
4. They last surprisingly long for a peel of polish. HOWEVER if you hit anything hard or scrape it on an edge it will come off as it has a glue like texture.
5. They are easy to remove and no remover is required.
I hope they bring out more shades in this formula I really do, I will definitely buy more!
I purchased these from a shop called Vuty Design – totally random find but they do free shipping if you spend $20 and have a cool sale section!
