Sleep? Well there’s something I won’t be having for quite a while.
But even though I am utterly exhausted most days, that doesn’t mean falling asleep is always easy – at the moment I am the queen of broken sleep too. That’s why I was really looking forward to testing the This Works Sleep Plus+ Pillow Spray (£25). This spray is a potent blend of Lavender, Patchouli, Cinnamon etc.
I haven’t really considered using pillow sprays before but I have to say – apart from the fact that Mr C finds it a bit annoying to have me spritzing this stuff all over our pillows (he has no problem falling asleep) – it works really well!
Compared to other sprays I have tried, it is definitely more ‘potent’. It smells much stronger without smelling like a Granny’s knicker drawer (some Lavender products are so synthetic and kind of horrible) where as this product is definitely more on the natural and aromatherapy side – like comparing a Ambi Pur candle to a Jo Malone one.
After a while it fades so it’s not too annoying for your partner if they’re not into this kind of thing but there’s a whiff of it when you dig your head into the pillow.
It’s hard to say if something like this truly works or if it’s psychological or if you were just going to have a better night anyway but I will say – it smells lovely, it is relaxing and it does seem to help me slip into a dream state for sure but hey, if you have say a CRYING CHILD there’s no spray you can use to stop that!
On the downside, this is sold out til January, (there is a less potent formula without the ‘+’ available though) and it’s expensive at £25. It does smell superior to others I have tried but if you prefer something cheaper, try Avon’s Sleep Serenity Pillow Mist which I bought for just £4.50.
