I have a huge soft spot for Top Shop nail polishes – for the price, I think the range is good and it applies nicely too. I picked up two colours recently in lieu of one Chanel polish! I think I was trying to replicate Chanel’s Particuliere and Peridot. I kinda failed, but still, it was fun trying!
EX1 Cosmetics is a range of make up created by Farah Naz, who is British Asian, and wanted to create a range of products suitable for ‘exotic’ skintones after being frustrated at what the high street had to offer. The brand uses the term ‘exotic’, and by that, they are meaning Asian (which in the UK tends to refer to Indian and Pakistani races), Middle/Far-Eastern or Mediterranean complexions. We are talking about quite a specific […]
Mr C kindly gifted me a number of Nars palettes, so I have finally had a chance to play with them all and am going to share my swatches and thoughts on each one this week. Each of the Artist palettes are LE, although they do in my experience, take a while to disappear from the official Nars websites. There are ones on there I bought years ago which they told me were LE but […]
Some people prefer lipsticks, some people prefer lip glosses. I am a lover of all lip products so I am easy…but one thing that eludes me is a truly wearable matte lipstick. As a bearer of naturally dry lips, I do struggle with finding a suitable long wearing or/and matte lip product. Everything dries them out. Enter the Burberry Lip Velvet Longwear Lipstick… They say: Burberry innovation brings a new finish for lips: a velvety […]
Months and months ago Becca had an online sale and I purchased some loose powder and these Pressed Shimmer Powder Compacts – they are actually due to be discontinued so are still half price at the moment (£15). They say: A delicately fine shimmer powder that lights up the complexion, illuminating darkened areas and lackluster skin and creating a magical glow that emanates from within. I am a real fan of Becca products – I […]
With the right lipstick, the right packaging, the right texture, I still get crazy jittery excited. I guess that’s how I know I am a real make up fan – a lipstick can do that to me. When it comes to high end luxury it doesn’t come much more swish then Sisley. Sisley’s Hydrating Long Lasting Lipstick is a highly pigmented, rich, enduring (enduring?!) lip colour. I have this in a very bright L31 Rose […]
Months ago, before everything in my life went IN YOUR FACE, I was supposed to do a series of posts with Avon Nailwear Pro Polishes that I was sent to review! I never got the chance to finish… Anyway, finally, here are the swatches of all the newer Avon Nailwear colours that I got- all in one place for your convenience! Avon Nailwear Pro in Star:
Spotted! Were these super cute nail polishes on ASOS. I forget how much I paid for them, less that £10 I think for a set of 3. ASOS has some good deals for POP goodies, they do some value bundles. There are 3 pretty pastel but not boring shades in this set – Ultra Violet, Mint Magic and Pink Popsicle. I like POP nail polishes I find the last ok and are an easy texture […]
A YouTuber made me do it! Except I can’t remember which one. One with pretty lips. A month or two ago a YouTuber mentioned one of her favourite lip glosses ever is Chanel’s Brilliant Extreme in Giggle. With a name like Giggle, I had to order one (I think Debenhams had 10% off), and I generally have faith that even though I was buying blind, Chanel comes up with the goods. So it arrives and […]
It’s nearly summer – although you can’t tell from the RAIN outside. My skin is still as dry as anything but as it warms up, I find more and more use for pretty powders. I purchased 2 powders from Skinfood a while ago but have only just had the chance to open them to give them a go! They are both sunny themed – one is a bronzer (pretty rare where Korean or indeed Asian […]
You know when Boots starts giving out the £5 off No. 7 vouchers, it’s a killer. The last few times I haven’t paid any attention to it, but because I was in need of a cheap and cheerful boost for Spring, I traded my vouchers in for four new nail polishes! I chose Cheeky Chops 240, Beanie 20, Tangy 220 & Stand Back 300! Random I know. All of these polishes have a cream finish….
Korean brand, Tony Moly have a really big stable of nail polishes that tend to belong to a certain “family” of polishes (e. Trendy, or Neon or the amazing Galaxy Nail Polishes). However, I’ve banned myself from buying nail polishes of late because I have so many but almost inevitably, I have very little time to apply and remove it. Then I saw these super duper cute almost circus like polishes from Tony Moly which […]
So quite a while ago I went and bought all the shades from the NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream range because it was a good deal for all the shades (about £4 each). Here is what NYX say: Neither lipstick nor lip gloss—this is matte lip cream. A new kind of pout paint that goes on silky smooth and sets to a matte finish. Soft Matte Lip Cream is surprisingly durable and, unlike some matte […]
Today’s polish is blue. When the sun comes out I feel like these kinds of bright shades are more acceptable! Avon’s Cosmic Blue has some pearl shot through it. I quite like it, even if there aren’t lots of different tones going on.
Carrying on from the last nail polish post, I have another one of the new Avon Nail Polish colours! This one is called Starry Sky – a metallic pure clean silver! Something about silver polish just reminds me of Christmas!
Benefit’s latest Blush Box is Hervana, a rosy, berry, violet, peach toned box. It’s about time Benefit brought out something with these lovely purple type tones… My favourite blush boxes from Benefit are Hoola (perfect matte bronzer) then I quite like Coralista. But I haven’t found one that I’ve found an essential blush shade. Do you like the design of the box: Benefit Hervana has four shades which can be swirled into one. It has […]
I’ve been looking for a really good powder liner for a while; a friend of mine always uses one to tightline (I don’t because I find powder that close to my eyeball irritates it) and then she blends the black away into a really soft, flattering daytime look. Canmake released some gel pencil liners (review coming up) and 2 powder liners late last year. I am a complete sucker when it comes to eyeliners; I […]
I have heard so many positive things about the L’oreal Infalliable Eye Colours that I decided to pick up 3 when they were on 3 for 2 in Superdrug. Superdrug seem to be getting their act together and their once very messy counters look tidier and I’ve noticed these eyeshadows were sealed up with tape too to prevent people from opening new products and dipping their fingers in (why do people do that?!). I chose […]
See the first full review of Too Faced Exotic Color Intense Eyeshadow here! Finally, we’ll finish with the darkest shade in the Too Faced Exotic Color Intense range! Night Nymph. Night Nymph is a really rich black eyeshadow with silver glitters. You’ve seen this before many times I am sure: Got to love a bit of glitter. I have various black eyeshadows with silver glitter in them and normally, they’re fine but the fall out can […]
See the first full review of Too Faced Exotic Color Intense Eyeshadow here! Frilly Lilly is one of the pale glittery shades in the Color Intense range – it’s a icy white with quite a soft, pigmented texture. As you can see from the chunks of glitter on the case, it is very glittery but not to the point where it falls all over your face leaving you with a glitter cheek.
