Cosmagic is a tiny little range from Japan’s Kose Brand which has just some mascara, eyeliner and brow pencils. It has me captivated though, cos it looks oh so cool. I completed my collection of Cosmagic with this Hyper Beam Eyes Black Glitter Powder Eyeliner (a mouthful, no?). Hyper Beam. Let me Hyper Beam You. (I’ve discussed products with silly names quite a few times.) Anyway, here is the Hyper Beam! Oh how I love […]
Bargain Hunter Candy, thats what they call me. Honest. First to the bargain bin if I can help it. When it comes to bargain hunting, there are so many fab brands about at the moment that sell affordable make up .When I was 15 or 16 and getting into this stuff, all the foundation were hideously piggy pink and the lipsticks were completely frosty. So I bring to you a new bargain product – ELF […]

Stilaaaaaa! Stilaaaaa! Where for art thou? Well infact, Stila is everywhere in the UK, constantly on sale, on eBay, Brand Alley etc. etc. I like Stila but I don’t have a knockout product from the company. I picked up this Kajal Eyeliner in Topaz after people told me it was the perfect inner eye highlighter. “Geez, haven’t you heard of it?” they said in the comments. Yah I have heard of it, but I couldn’t […]
Buying MAC make up for me is like buying scented pantyliners – its kind of pointless but you make some kind of use out of it once its in your drawer. Well, I did this haul before Christmas (yes I’m behind) just as a little pick me up. I bought 3 shadows, a case, two liners, strobe cream and a lipstick! MAC please sort your wrapping out! Whenever I get mail order the products are […]
I remember when Aussie brand Bloom first hit the UK stores – I must have just started Uni and bought a few of the products try out, then *poof* – it was gone. Now its back and in selected Superdrug stores! I bought three items as part of the 3 for 2 offer (total spent £20). There were loads of tempting things but I was good and stuck to 3 items, not 6…. They say: […]
I’ve tried a few of the Make Up Forever Aqua Eyes pencils before, and they weren’t ones I used much – even so I decided to purchase three more a week ago in three colours I don’t have for £11.50 each – 13L – Fuschia Pink 13L (metallic fuschia) 23L – Champagne (metallic pink champagne) 24L – Taupe (taupe brown) They say: What it is: A two-in-one eyeshadow and liner pencil. What it does: These […]
Some people don’t do liquid eyeliner – I personally love them. As long as I have them in pen form, I can do a pretty decent eye, even in a moving vehicle that’s being driven erratically (isn’t that right, Mr Candy?). I adore this pen/felt tip/sponge tipped eyeliner pen. It makes lining SO easy. If you struggle with liquid liner application, seriously ditch the traditional skinny brush and try one of these out. Up for […]
Laura Mercier is one of those brands that always has odd bits and pieces worth investing in (like the base products). I picked up some bits, a clear nude lip gloss in Bare Beige, the dark eyeliner (god I love eyeliner pencils) and the new Foiled eye colour in VIP silver: The eyeshadow reminds me of the ‘baked’ kind but I didn’t really think much when I swatched it at home. HOWEVER – once it […]
For Charlotte: A true, slightly warm gold. What would you wear with this? Note: This image is part of the soon to be launched swatch gallery. Tiffa is one of those more non-descript Japanese brands that doesn’t have a full range of cosmetics as such – just more bits and bobs. Mascaras. Bath products. Eyeshadows. Liners. Some glosses. And yet I have this soft spot of Tiffa because they have a brilliant Lip Balm (my cats nicked the lid and stuck their paw in mine – in the bin it went) and their old formula mascara and primer was wonderful. The […]
Barry M recently launched a matte version of their creamy and very soft eye crayons: I am already a fan of the super soft metallic eye pencils, when I was sent two of the new matte textures to try out in a green and blue: I like the fact they are matte but bright at the same time. I find mattes for the eyes *snooorreeee* most of the time, so a pop of colour helps….
Mini Bourjois sure is cute and adorable, but I haven’t really been blown away with the range. Then when shopping for my friend, Musey, I saw these little pencils which are new to the range. Color Exciting Eyeliner! There are 8 shades in the range – they were just dumped on the stand so I picked out two, in purple 06 and gold 07. These are so dinky and cute. I love anything mini sized […]
I love liquid eyeliner, just love it. Get the right one and its easy to apply, and lasts all day. I bought this one from Kevin Beautymaker (a Taiwanese brand) from Beauty Eshop – a UK based store that sells Asian products. Love it – means I get my make up the next day! I picked up this Micro Fine Liquid Eyeliner (in black only) and its o.1mm………super fine! Want to see if it worked? […]
Paul & Joe is a brand I have a weakness for because it has such stunning packaging and concepts. I love their Eye glosses, Creamy Lipsticks and Pigments. For Winter 2009, they launched a gorgeous looking purple and gold packaged range called ‘Smoke and Mirrors’. In Asia this comes as a set (with the shadow, liner and case) but it the UK and US, like the mugs we are, we have to buy the products […]
I’ve been a little slow off the mark, but from the moment I saw the RMK Autumn Mystique collection I’ve been dying to try out a few bits and pieces: RMK’s website, by the way, has a ‘making of’ video everytime they release a new collection which is interesting to watch. Ok – so I got the a blush and shadow, and a new gel liner: There are 2 blushers to choose from, a pink […]
“Buy the Black Greasepaint stick from MAC!” shouted the voices in my head, so off I went to my local counter, where I stood aimlessly for 20 minutes, burning a hole into the SA’s head untill she served me. “Give me TWO!” I said. I don’t know why I let myself get swept away like that. But anyway, here it is: The entire Style Black collection is right up my street, but I am trying […]
Majolica Majorca’s Autumn 2009 collection, Fairy Sadistic *giggles* also has a set of new liquid eyeliners to match. Good. Previous Majolica Majorca liquid eyeliners have not been my cup of tea – too unpigmented, too watery. This new release consists of 7 shades of blackened eyeliners: I bought two, the GR604 Green and GD802 Gold. One day I’ll get rund to buying BL603 and RD605. Eye, eye! Read more after the jump!
Urban Decay have just launched these Ink For Eyes Cream Eyeliners in the UK – five shades (we are missing Pyrotechnic, a sparkly white which the US ladies have). Check out the imagery, which is super hot: It’s make up like that makes me want to walk around with my eyes closed…. Here are my beauties! The most obvious things about this is the unusual shape of the packaging (reminds me of Bourjois Ombre Streettccchhh […]
Shiseido’s Majolica Majorca must have one of the most innovative and beautiful websites I have ever seen – every season they design a interactive flash site with a new look and idea. Gorgeous, gorgeous. And all for some new make up. Majolica Majorca hasn’t won me over in a while and calling a collection ‘Fairy Sadistic’ doesn’t help. But I indulged anyway in three affordable glosses, their new blusher, the honey essence treatment and two […]
