Stila, Stila, Stila. I always have a soft spot for Stila, who doesn’t? But the recent releases of GLITTER and more GLITTER? Perfect. I am a glitter lover, remember. GLITTER IS LIFE. Make that a hash tag.
Here’s a little review of some of their glorious recent releases.
Stila Heaven’s Hue Highlighter (£28) – this comes in 3 shades, Bronze, Kitten and Transcendence. Bronze is a soft gold, Kitten is a light nude pale beige gold, Transcendence is a lilac purple pink. You have a warm tone, neutral and a cool tone.
I have Kitten here which is the most neutral and probably most useful for most skintones.
The main thing I found with this highlighter is that it is like BUTTER. It is so very very soft to touch I actually thought it was a cream to begin with as it’s feather light to touch. it has a really pretty soft glow, it isn’t glittery or chunky at all. It’s a very find sheen I think most people will like. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to someone new or highlighter and wanted to invest in a good quality one.
I actually find the shade Transcendence very interesting!
Now Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eye shadow (£23) is just DA BOMB.
Remember I love glitter. this is true, kinda chunky real glitter in a liquid eyeshadow. None of this ‘disappears as you blend’ rubbish. This is REAL glitter. I love. You don’t need me to tell you that if you hate glitter, this is not for you. If you love glitter then YES this is great, I will tell you why:
1. It comes in quite handy in the container. The sponge amazingly, applies the product well for an intense hit (or line effect). You can also blend it out for a spread glitter look.
2. You have play time, it doesn’t set immediately. Not loads of time, but time.
3. It stays put. Glitter fall out is a big issue for me as I have sensitive eyes (as are fibers in some mascaras) but I get no irritation with this, which tells me the glitter clings on to the base, which clings on to the eye.
4. This is TRULY glitter dense .It is TRULY GLITTER CENTRAL and shimmery and eye catching. The only other thing I can think of that would be just as glittery is a loose glitter and a glue such as lash glue but aint no body got time for that on the nursery run.
Any down sides?
It’s £23 so a little steep, but I can’t think of anything else like this on the market.
Shade wise – it’s neutrals, golds, browns. They could so add some funky shades in the future.
The shade I have is Kitten Karma, a pale light gold:
Finally I have Glitterati Lip Top Coat in Transcend (£18).
Another innovation, this top coat can be worn alone or over a matte liquid lipstick that Stila are so well known for.
This formula is strange – it’s a runny liquid with pearls and glitter in it. You need to give it a shake before applying.
Now here is the special bit. Once you have applied this, it dries down so is NOT shiny but still has glitters. It is therefore not a lip gloss top coat it is like a sealant/topcoat with glitters which is so interesting to me!
It is EXTREMELY glitter dense too by the way. The shade Transcend has pink/silvery pearls and a clear base. The other colour, Ignite is more reddish tinged.
I adore this because I LOVE GLITTER and this adds a fun edge to matte colours or indeed any colour.
I am wearing the three products here! I don’t think I would do all three together normally! I would either do eyes or lips, but yes, I would wear them every day and not just save them for special occasions, because life is too short, yo.
Check out Stila here. They have SO many nice new things out.
