Illamasqua will be launching their newest collection, Dystopia for Autumn/Winter – I had a little sneek peak of it today and its is a vivid and rather stunning collection of silvers, pinks and greys. I kept thinking of the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz and giant cherries….but I’m weird.
By the way, Dystopia means a vision of society that is oppressed, miserable, poor, suffering….see Metropolis by Fritz Lang. Oh Media Studies A-Level, how you haunt me so….
Hot Pinks….Metallic Silver…but surprisingly very wearable. Forgive me, I forgot some of the names. I have the swatches. Oh yes.
But before that, in the collection we have:
Two new pre made quads – one has 2 purples from the existing collection (can can and another one I can’t remember the name of) and a BRAND NEW sparkly black, and a iridescent white.
The other quad has a white-lilac iridescent shadow, two greys and a hot pink. Each palette contains some of the new colors and are well worth it over getting the solos.
One new lipstick in Avenge a BRIGHT pink, devoid of any blue tones
Two new nail polishes a HOT PINK called Obsess that dries Matte and a stunning mauve-grape that is wearable for everyday.
New Liquid Metal in Phenomena – a tin man true silver. It’s hot and judging by how it lived on my hand, doesn’t crease too much.
Two new lip glosses, Galactic is the most intense silver I have ever seen – I cant think of any other product like it, and there is a light lilac gloss (after Galactic, you can’t really think about anything else)
Two new Pure Pigments, one is a glittery multi toned lilac, one is a deep grey with tons and tons of sparkles.

Got a bit confused here, but these three are new and in their own palettes I believe – but remember you can get them in the quads:
Hot Pink from the quad:
The two purples and lilac from the other quad – the shimmery lilac is a new shade:
The new pink polish – dries MATTE:
The new lilac polish:
Verdict:
From my sneak peak I genuinely think this collection is gorgeous and cleverly has enough appeal for make up junkies and ‘real’ women – a palette of greys and pinks can be played up or down.
My must haves from this collection:
The Pink Lipstick: Unique, Hot, Stunning
Galactic Lip Gloss: Its ridiculously hot, its like nothing else you will own
The Pure Pigments: The Grey is a must have, you may be able to live without the sparkly lilac although I think its a nice shade for Christmas. Tinsel and all that.
Liquid Metal: Depends if you like this product, I think this shade is pretty cool and I felt that it lasted a long time on my hand without any fading.
Quads: I know I’ll end up with both – both are stunning, I really like the one with the hot pink and greys.
Nail Polish: I prefer the lilac – is very very very wearable and elegant.
You can pre-order Dystopia online from 3rd Sept here.
