It’s been a while since I’ve bought products from Skinfood and it used to be my favourite – I seem to purchase from Innisfree and other Korean skincare brands more now. I couldn’t resist something from the Snoopy collaboration since I am a fan (as is H1 now).
Collaborations are not extremely popular with Korean brands and they are consistently producing new lines with this character or that character. It’s become the norm rather than the exception.
The Skinfood x Snoopy collaboration is a small collection of 5 cute nail polishes, nail stickers and two honey lip ‘essences’ which are like lip treatments/balms but, er, not. Well this collection was…disappointing…
I chose grey because it seemed wearable and glitter since I like glitter.
The lip essence I chose the original one because the pink one I am guessing has such a sheer tint it would make no difference anyway.
So firstly that. Honey lip essences are quite common with Korean brands because honey has its moisturising properties, but of course, no one actually wants to smear honey on their lips.
This product is mega gloopy, stick and thick, like actual honey. There’s a faint scent but the texture is SO sticky – I mean it protects the lips in terms of providing a protective layer and it adds a lot of shine too but as an actual lip balm, there’s nothing natural or comfortable about this product. Your hair will stick stick to your face. Also look at how little product is in there when you pull the massive applicator out:
The nail polishes are pretty bad too. Well, the grey is fine. It’s a flat light grey, I wish it had a bit of pearl which is what it looks like it has on the promotion picture.
It chipped within 2 days.
