Sunscreen….is my new obsession. There’s a lot of good sunscreens out there, and many ladies I know swear by Shiseido Extra Smooth Sun Protection Lotion (in the aqua coloured bottle). Shiseido’s Urban Environment UV Protection Cream is rather unique though; formulated for every day use in the city!
See, I am one of those people that swan around the town, thinking the sun can’t reach me if I weave in and out of the tall buildings. But it’s not true!
Shiseido Urban Environment UV Protection Cream comes in two strengths, SPF 35 PA+++ and SPF 50 PA+++. There’s no real reason why I’d need SPF50 over 35 (I don’t exactly live somewhere sunny) but nevertheless, I wanted to go for FULL protection!
The texture – it’s pretty light and easy:
This sunscreen is feather light, and protects against ‘pollution and dryness’ too. I am currently working in a heavily air conditioned office so this really helps.
They also say:
?Scutellaria Baicalensis helps prevent UV damage to essential fibroblasts which produce collagen and elastin, the key elements to resilient, youthful-looking skin. (in vitro)
?Rose Apple Leaf Extract counteracts oxidation, the process which accelerates skin aging, and helps prevent DNA damage caused by UV rays. (in vitro)
The cream is light in texture and invisible once it is rubbed in. It works as a make up base too, and it really is hydrating. One of the best SPF’s you will ever, ever buy is Biore’s Aqua Rich Watery Mousse Water Base – this is as good as that but more hydrating. So if you have drier skin, the Shiseido Urban Environment cream is perfect.
Rubbed into the skin:
Can I just say I love the packaging shape! It’s a really flat, wide tube! I just find it pleasing to hold and easy to carry around because of the shape.
The only downside of this product is the price – at £30 it is not the cheapest SPF out there but if you want something with high protection, light and invisible on the skin but slightly hydrating and protective, this is a great buy.

I love sunscreens too! But even though I use them daily, it’s difficult to go through them all so that I can try more. At least now I’m bugging the bf to wear it too, heh.
