Stupid, stupid people.

Salonskincare.com, who I spent a fair few yen with have gone down down down in my estimations. They sold me a Korres scalp scrub which is OUT OF DATE:

£16. Not cheap, right? I was kind of going to leave it, but on principle, why should I?

So I emailed them politely, asking if they could change it, even though selling out of date goods as fresh and new is probably illegal.

So I get this snotty response today:

Well well well Evelyn (nice name. Maybe I should call my future daughter Evelyn. What do you think? Too old? Anyway…)

I was kind of peed off by this. The correct answer would be -

* Sorry, my bad. We will refund/exchange with no extra cost to you.

Or an moderately acceptable answer:

* Whoops. Are you sure it was us? Let us investigate first please and get our facts absolutely straight first. (since I know I’m not lying, further investigations should reveal I am in fact telling the truth.)

However, an UNACCEPTABLE answer is – ‘We don’t know what you are talking about, it’s not us, its you.’

This is the equivalent of being dumped by a boy you never liked anyway. (Crap analogy but still.)

Luckily for her, I am feeling mild today otherwise it would of be a verbal GBH*, instead it was just a mild slap and a hair pull.

I will keep you updated to see if these artards actually fix it or if they will continue to treat me like a liar. I can swear under oath this damn thing came from them, or may heaven strike me down! I am actually quite annoyed as I wanted to try this out, but I’d better not touch the evidence!

      Oh yes I have the invoice and things but I am guessing if they really wanted to, they could just keep on saying that it wasn’t their item I recieved. Like I said, a whole lot of hassle I can’t be bothered with, its just the principle of it. There are tons of companies that sell Korres, just DONT BUY FROM THEM! I wish I didn’t!

    But in all seriousness, your reply was perfect. Keeping it firm but professional leaves you room to escalate to higher levels as you can present your communication records as evidence.

    If all else fails, you can always do a chargeback.

    You have convinced me that the majority of the CS in the UK is horrendous.

    • Hey Mable. The CS in the UK is pretty bad – it hasn’t been this bad for a while but ho-hum. I was expecting them to take it back and exchange it or ask for a bit of evidence perhaps, then take it but still I wasnt expecting a straight up rebuff! I spent £100 with them, why pick up on one poxy item to try and con out of them!

    that is pretty ridiculous.
    i have found that even in my past years experience in dealing with CS…they are a hit or a miss.
    and when they are misses, they are just out of control in terms of what they shouldn’t be saying/doing…

    goodluck…i hope that they deal with the matter in the correct way!

      I will keep trying – it just takes so much energy to argue with these people and clearly they don’t care because their customer service is very slow to respond to anything. I hate the – We are right, you are absolutely wrong – attitude!

Wow, what a customer no service…I hate it when that happens (I ordered a powder case from cosmetic America and they sent me a completely different one…I emailed the sale rep and he said: “Sorry, but all you need to do is to send it back to our warehouse, which is in Hong Kong within 5 days and we will refund you minus the shipping….”

    Oh , yeah, I heard/ (have seen) that people receive skincare items from strawberry net with the expiration date cut off…(well, I mean, I always see those super old stock there anyway…so I never bought stuff there)

      YesAsia were like that. sent me a purfume that had leaked everywhere, so I complained and they were like – sure send it back at your own cost and we wont refund shipping and it will take 28 days or so etc. etc. etc. not even worth the effort (as they will clearly know!).

      I have to say I have shopped at Strawberry net a lot and the stuff has alwaus been ok. I noticed that if they sell something old, it will say in the listing, “Cream exp 03/2008″ or something but you never know truly unless you can check with the batch number…

      Oh yes. Imagine being able to return a cosmetic item because you got bored of it or you just didn’t like it any more! Heaven! I’d have a 50% smaller stash, I tell you.
