I recently did a bit lip collection clear out where I chucked a lot of lipsticks and lip glosses away. I had some real gems in there I’d not used for a while and I did rediscover my rather impressive of RMK Irresistible Lips C Lipstick Collection (A creamy, soft, melty textured lip colour). I won’t be parting with those…
But I digress. I have some colour pieces from RMK to try!
Ingenious Cream & Powder Eyes 03 Purple, Creamy Sheer Powder Cheeks 03 Coral Orange and W Crayon & Gloss Lips 04 in Creamy Beige.
Don’t be intimidated by the names of RMK products even if they seem long! It’s quite a Japanese thing, where the name of a product describes what it is (ie. Cream and Powder Eyes).
Ok so let’s talk about the first product, Ingenious Cream & Powder Eyes 03 Purple.
This little compact has a cream base on the top and a powder eyeshadow on the bottom. The base makes the colour last longer, the colour more vibrant and also gives more of a layered look when in fact it’s very simple to apply.
The little compact compared to £1:
It took me a while to figure out how to get the powder part open! D’oh!
Twist to reveal the powder.
This currently come sin 5 combinations and purple is my favourite, just because I love purple eyes. The cream base is a deep true purple that applies medium pigmented – you can layer it otherwise it’s a sheer-ish finish (not like say, a gel liner). It has a soft texture that melts easily and it’s easy to move around and blend.
The Lilac eyeshadow is a powder and is a super sparkly pale lavender with silvery sparkles. On top of the cream it’s ideal, because it helps with adhesion and depth.
See – they look great together:
On my eyes, with the addition of a Zooeva purple eyeliner I have on my water line. It’s so easy to get these eyes with this kit.
RMK Creamy Sheer Powder Cheeks 03 in Coral Orange consists of a ‘colour correction cream base’ on the left and a colour on the right. The colour correction base on the left is used as a base then the colour is applied ON TOP. The result is a really pretty shimmery finish that leaves the skin quite glow-y. I was worried that it would highlight pores but the shimmer is so very very fine.
Although the right side is called a cream, it’s a powder but a very very very soft one at that. Swatch; the orange side is more of a soft peach:
As part of RMK’s Play on Pink collection, the W Crayon & Gloss Lips in 04 Coral Beige is a limited edition product. There are 5 colours in the range and mine is a very me shade – a combination of a light matte yellow beige (RMK do amazing yellow based beiges) with a sheer transparent blue with chunky blue glitters.
When I first saw the glitter side I squealed. You know I love my sheer blue glosses…I have this weird thing about them.
Here it is:
The crayon side is actually drier than I expected as RMK lip colours are usually really soft. This one has a denser texture and medium pigmentation. I swiped it on my lips a few times to get the best coverage and the colour is very light. I still like it but I think I’d like a hint more brown in it. The gloss side comes with a plastic spatula type applicator which I like as its easy to clean (used as a top coat, it’s bound to get dirty).
When you inspect the lips close up you can see the glitter particles, from a distance you can’t make them out so much. This matte crayon needs to gloss I think, to keep the lips looking healthy.
Anyway, here are the three products used on me with my big head. I love the purple on my eyes, on this photo I can see how the blusher looks very soft and glowing, and the lip colour also works well for a brighter eye.
