Revlon ColorStay Mineral Mousse Matte Make Up Review

I got this foundation in the post ages and ages ago and have only just had a chance to review it! Revlon’s Colorstay Mineral Mousse Make Up comes in a black squeezy bottle:

Its not a proper hardcore mousse foundation like this one but it does a mousse like texture to it when you blend it in, in that its quite light but thick.

This foundation comes in easy to choose shades (Fair – Fair/Light – Light etc.) I got 060 which is Medium.

There’s one great thing about this foundation – its easy to work into the skin, whether its with the fingers, a brush or (to a lesser extent), sponge.

It feels quite firm as its pushed out of the tube but blends into an airy light mousse leaving a soft matte finish…According to the Revlon website, this foundation is part of the Colorstay range which means it should last for 16 hours! This foundation definitely didn’t last 16 hours but it did pretty well at controlling oil and staying put.

The foundation did a good job at covering redness…

The finish of this foundation is really lovely – its a soft matte without looking dry or cakey, and it makes my skin look flawless. I have dry patches but I felt it did ok on those, without too much clinging.

Verdict:

This foundation has everything going for it – decently priced, easy shade selection, easy to apply, gorgeous soft matte finish. But – if I am honest its not got that va-va-voom so I rarely reach for this base.

When I have to many super impressive foundations at home it hard to pick out this one to use but looking back at it, it is a great foundation to try if you want that soft matte look.

I love the look and feel of this foundation, but I can’t stand using it, as it’s so heavily perfumed – I swear, I can still smell it hours later and it makes me feel sick! If Revlon just cut the fragrance a little, it’d easily replace my current NARS foundation.
