When I read Jessica Alba’s ‘The Honest Life’ it really made me think (I am still reading it by the way!) about the types of products we use on our bodies and also around the house. I am slowly making changes where I can and I decided to buy a facial sunscreen from American brand Raw Elements (recommended by a friend).
Raw Elements is a natural sunscreen (none chemical) which means it reflects the sun rather than absorbs it.
This sunscreen (SPF 30) is a face cream AND SPF protection and it is also tinted AND it comes in a tin. That is a lot of ands, but it looked really interesting to me. I certainly don’t have any tinted face creams that come in tins for one. This product has a lot of natural ingredients:
Organic Sunflower Oil, Organic Green Tea, Organic Black Tea, Organic Coffee, Organic Hemp Seed Oil, Organic Cocoa Butter, All Natural Mango Butter, Organic Beeswax, All Natural Rosemary Oil Extract, All Natural Vitamin E, Iron Oxides.
I had to order this in from America (it is sold on the UK Amazon website though). It’s a real change from my average cream! It feels thick and oily, it’s got a balm like texture (lighter and doesn’t sit on the skin though) but people who have oily skin might not like how thick this feels.
The tinted element is nothing to worry about – it gives the skin a tiny bit of a glow. It blends away well so it’s not an issue I don’t think, for paler or darker skins than mine.
There is definitely an oily element to this product that is not that bad because my skin is dry. In terms of coverage – it is absolutely minimal, I guess it isn’t really a covering base anyway rather a prep for everything else.
