In a new series of random finds (I do, occasionally buy things other than make up, honestly, like bacon and books), I present to you today, SOAK – a clothing detergent (is that the right word?) that is very eco-friendly and great for delicate items.
I got some sachets to try (£1.65 from here) – apparently you can just put your item in a bucket or sink or whatever, and put this stuff with it and ‘soak’ it.
I think this will work rather well for….- For Bras
- For lacy things
- For cashmere
- For delicate knick knacks
I actually wanted these to begin with because I had seem some other people talk about it and both me and Mr Candy have sensitive skin and get the itchies – quite often laundry detergent is to blame, but then again, what do you expect when you get Buy One Get One Free Spar Ocean Breeze 99p Powder.

Its also a really lazy way for me to get my underwired bras clean basically, I can just put them in the basin (if they will fit – ahem) and put one of these in.
I quite liked it – easy to use and nicely scented. Its not the cheapest thing though, but I will get some specifically for things like my wooly jumpers and underwear.
Soak – worth your time or waste of time?

I wash my bras with plain old shampoo; the cheap stuff works fine, but some folks prefer baby shampoo. I wear Cacique bras (36C, though I’m normally a D cup) and find that they can be tossed in the washing machine and still come out looking like new.
I find shampoo’s also great for washing cashmere and other wool items; it’s very gentle.

I will do try that (with Shampoo). I get lazy and chuck them in the washing machine then moan when they dig in the sides…
