Eye and lip make up is my favourite type of make up to review – I guess it’s just the most fun. I have enjoyed using Pixi’s Shade Quartette eyeshadoow quad in Shades of Daylight and Copper Glow eyeliner – natural and glowing browns!
The older I get the more I appreciate browns and neutrals – they are just so easy to wear and I don’t have the time to apply brights!
There’s something I quite like about these quads – maybe it’s because they’re quite big (or they feel like they are spaciously..erm…spaced) so I feel like a MUA swishing my brush over the colours!
The eyeshadow quad ‘shades of daylight’ as a mixture for 4 very natural wearable browns.
There’s a shimmery cream, a shimmery beige, a warm orangey brown and a chocolate brown. These eyeshadows feel very soft and creamy, and the pigmentation is good – I had no issues getting the colours too look how I wanted them to on my lids. These cost £16 each.
ENDLESS SILKY EYE PENCIL
The Endless Silky Eye Pencil – in Copper Glow is just divine. I have one of these pencils already (teal) and it is just simply gorgeous.
Waterproof, super-long-wear, no-smudge, no-budge eye liners. They glide on like seamless silk, and in a single sweep motion create a flawless, solid jewel-toned line. No retouching required all day – or night! Gentle on eyes, yet intensely coloured and super-silky.
I really really love these eye pencils. The colours are gorgeous and work really well on the waterline – this rich coppery brown is one of my favourites.
My one complaint is that these super soft pencils do transfer – I don’t find they set 100% (and I don’t find them waterproof either). These are £11 each. Do I like these more than Urban Decay 24/7 pencils?
Well, I don’t think they last all day either and I have a soft spot for these colours in the Pixi range – I would say it’s a tie!
A rough idea of how it looks on the eye!
TINTED BRILLIANCE BALM
They say: “Packed with lip-loving ingredients, this glossy gel balm protects & hydates lips instantly. After the balm wears off, lips are left tinted with a flattering, personalized hue just for you (colour & intensity depends on pH level of lips).’
Tinted Brilliance Balm in Baby Bare is a really nice lip product – I quite like these chubby sticks since you can apply the product with precision without too much bother.
This is somewhere between a tint and a balm and a gloss. Baby Bare is a natural pink which doesn’t have too much pigment when you swatch it, but when I tried it on my lips it reacted to the ‘PH’ and I ended up with quite a bright eye catching rose!
I really liked the finished look of this balm – I thought it would be quite wishy washy and nothing-y, but it became quite a rich pink on my lips, and also quite healthy and plump.
I would definitely try more colours to see how the shades turn out on my lips particularly the pale ones! I don’t know why these lipstick change colour so much on me, but they do!
