I remember the first time I used a crackle polish (it was Barry M) and i was amazed, Mr C was amazed, the cousins were amazed.

These days you can buy crackle polishes everywhere! Every brand makes them and in different colours too! Peripera also has a range, called ‘Zebra’ nails:

I chose just 1 shade in the gold. I am a bit over the zebra crackle thing although it is funky.

Here are the shades:

There are a few ways to apply it to get different results!

Stroke UP – to get:

Sideways for:

Diagonal for:

Or a sponge:

Creative eh!

Now back to the Zebra Gold Crackle I got.

I don’t like this at all! When applied it has a beautiful shimmery quality. Unfortunately, it dries to an ugly matte shade and the yellow is a really ugly old mouldy egg yellow.

I would give this another go in another colour and also maybe with a sponge? Hmm

What do you make of this Peripera Zebra Crackle?

I love the sponge effect – it’s different.

If you put top coat over it it goes back to the shimmery colour.

This. I’ve found most crackle polishes end up looking chalky when applied, before the topcoat is added.
