I had been lemming the Nars Cream Eyeshadow Quads for a while but since I have quite a few of the solos, I know that these CREASE like crazy. As a base for powder, they are nice but as standalone cream eyeshadows, they don’t/won’t/can’t stand up to the likes of my eye jellies & Shiseido Hydro Powers.
Anyway, so I was about to spend £22.50 of Summertime, but you know it does look pretty bleh in the pan. So I passed for the time being. Lucky for me I found it off Ebay as “refill” pans. No case is even better for me, because NARS shadows are a b*gger to depot.
I live in regret of the day I destroyed Rated R (or is it X? X is the clear gloss I think), Tiger Lilly and Misfit duos. The heat depotting method didn’t work well on Nars, I think because the glue they use is super super tight, and the casing is thick rubber which means theres an awful lot to burn through (Unlike with NYX..which we will get to later).
So anyway, my point it NARS is hard to depot – Enkore’s method of using Isopropyl Alchohol may work better, but you need to be able to chip away some of the case to do that, and NARS cases are THICK.
My point is, don’t depot them unless you know what you are doing!
Anyway…so on Ebay you can buy the duos as refills (thus saving me the job of depotting!) for…..£4.00! A measly £4.00!
Here is what I got –
Only thebes is missing from the duos – thebes is a very light ivory anyhow so its the one palette I could have passed on.
So I finally got my new cream shadows and crumbled powder ones together in one palette!:
I converted my palette using the Enkore video here. I hope the Make Up Artists Enkore knows aren’t like the magic circle – otherwise they are going to go after him for revealing all their secrets…
