Method 1.

Answer this:

I already have a impressive collection of books – mainly non fiction – from my years as a literature student and from general hauling (book hauls don’t count as reckless spending if you ask me!). So…

Recommend a book (fiction) to me.

Me:

Everyone should read Coming Up For Air by George Orwell.

Another diamond I found, is a book called, ‘The Roaches Have No King’ by Daniel Evan Weiss. It’s hilarious!

Method 2.

Follow me on Twitter and retweet (RT) the following message:

RT @cosmetic_candy: Follow and Retweet to Win 2 x BB Creams & Lashes. For info go to – http://tinyurl.com/352wcdv

*Note: if you change the tweet, it will not count as an entry.

Note: winner of last giveaway (Radox Shower Smoothies) is GALEN.

I agree with Amanda above, Valley of the Dolls was great and a fairly easy read. I’ve also recently finished Eat Pray Love which, although a predictable choice as the movie is about to come out, was worth the read. If you’ve already read that one, there’s a male spoof version called Drink Play F**k which is loosely based on the husband the main character in the original leaves when she goes on her journey of life discovery. It’s hilarious!

The book I always recommend to everyone is ‘Loving’ by Henry Green. It’s a love story that’s ordinary but amazing at the same time.

I have just finished reading “Passion” by Louise Bagshawe and it is brilliant, so much so that I have told my husband he has to rad it too.

“Practical Magic” by Alice Hoffman is a nice whimsical read. There’s also a movie out with the same name starring Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman!

One of the best fictional books I’ve read is ‘The Secret History’ – by Donna Tartt.

Gosh, suspense, thrill, drama, excitement: this has it all! If you haven’t read it already, you NEED to. It’s a must-read for everybody in their lifetime.

I love the short stories of Robert Sheckley. He mixed the science fiction with a big piece of humor, irony and clever things )))
My love is his The AAA Ace Series. Try it!

I reccomend either “the wasp factory” by Iain Banks, or if you like a bit of high-fantasy, “The Black Beast” by Nancy Springer :)
