Missha x Wonder Woman limited edition collection was released in October 2015 (yeah, MAC already did it) with a selection of palettes (2), nail polishes (loads), 2 lipsticks and some repackaged mascara and BB products. I did quite like the look of the special packaging and I am in awe of how these Korean companies are bringing out new collaborations all the time!
However I tried to keep this haul small because there are just so many interesting Korean releases that it’s almost impossible to buy them all. I purchased an eyeshadow palette (01 Variation, a brown-orange combination) and three polishes.
The nail polish range is HUGE – 20 shades, all extremely tempting but I went for 3 I thought would be nice for the festive season; GPK05 a metallic shimmery mid pink, BL11 a rich bottle blue and GBK03 a chunky glittery top coat.
First here is the palette! The packaging is really cute, and striking. It is plastic but sturdy enough with a big mirror. At around £13 it’s amazing what you can get in terms of variety and looks with Korean brands.
This variation palette (the other is cool and more purple and pink based) is very warm and orange. There are a mixture of mattes and shimmers, all in a thin strip:
The colours from left to right:
1 – Shimmery almost powdery white
2 – Shimmery apricot
3 – Matte coral
4 – Shimmery tangerine
5 – Mid toned flat orange
6 – Shimmery medium peach
7 – Matte mid brown
8 – Shimmer metallic creamy copper
9 – Metallic chocolate brown
10 – Lighter glittery golden brown
These colours are nice but very warm – I do usually love golds, coppers and sheer oranges but this palette is so warm and orangey that I actually find it a bit too much. I would’ve preferred a few more neutrals thrown in there for variation.
Another issue is that despite the odd mattes, the texture of the other palettes are just shimmery…once again, some different textures like shimmer, glitter, metallic would’ve been nice – because otherwise it can look a bit disco-ball.
Here are the colours on my eyes – I don’t think the pretty shimmer in the palette translates to my eyes well.
Anyway the polishes!
I have used Missha polishes before, and they are decent for the price.
BL11 is a rich opaque blue, it’s bright but fun:
GBK03 – is a chunky glitter that can be worn as a top coat. Missha are good at chunky top coats!
See it on top of the blue:
GPK03 is a mid pink shot with tons of silver pearl and it’s so lovely – a nice thin texture and covers well leaving a metallic finish:
