The Michael Kors brand is everywhere – clothes, bags, watches, fragrances and now cosmetics too. I am actually a bit slow off the mark here, but MK has some luxurious looking lipsticks and glosses on offer. I have one here today for review.
The Michael Kors lipsticks and glosses (or lip lacquer and lip lusters!) comes in shiny gold packaging which is a bit of a MK signature thing. The lipstick is fairly decent weight in shiny gold. So many fashion brands seem to go for this style of packaging!
Diva is a beige gold with shimmery pearl. It’s natural colour that is sheer with medium gloss. The texture itself is very nice; it reminds me of a balm as it’s very smooth and glides without pulling. Metallic frosty beige isn’t a colour I would normally choose these days but it’s something I went for a lot when I was younger.
Do you see the problem?
There is very little pigment with this colour (perhaps the other shades fare better). But you can clearly see this shade looks like a light pearly shimmer on the lips, a lip balm really. If you want a really really really really natural pearly finish on the lips then this might be it, but due to the price I am sure you’d more than just a bit of shimmer, right?!
Alas – I have high hopes for a Michael Kors cosmetic range but this particular lipstick in this shade doesn’t cut it unless you want something really really natural and you fancy something from this brand specifically.
Buy it from Escentual for £23.50.
