I have been meaning to try this Cleansing Balm for a long time but somehow never got used to it. I’ve been doing much better with making sure I go to bed with a clean face and have been steadily using up a ton of samples (unless they give me a rash/make me break out) which sometimes happens. Finally, I got round to using this one…
I love cleansing balms, but there are so many different textures and things around – I’ve noticed the Asian ones I’ve used err or the side of oily or sherberty, wheres some of the other brands I’ve used can be quite waxy or solid. This Merumaya Cleansing Balm is lovely – the texture is one of the big reasons why.
It comes in a tube so nice and hygienic. You get 100ml – a decent quantity. It has a lovely texture, like a melted soft balm that doesn’t require warming up at all, and spreads nicely on to the skin. It also has a soft scent to it, it smells sort of like a light floral, and I’ve found it quite effective at removing layers of make up and it takes some eye make up off too (I wear VERY waterproof mascara and that still need to be removed with specific remover).
They recommend a double cleanse with this product, one to remove make up and the second to clean the skin. It washes off easily as it turns into a white milk and the skin feels soft and clean. Some cleansing balm and oils can make my skin feel a bit dry which this one doesn’t. It definitely works best with the (slightly rough) flannel, to take all make up and grime off.
Washing my face with this it definitely feels much much better than using a regular face wash or foam.
You can buy this cleansing balm for £14.50 here or selected John Lewis’ stores.
