I first encountered Medik8, a British skincare brand when I had a Bliss facial.
The therapist recommended a Medik8 product called Red Alert to me for my hypersensitivity (review coming up at some point in the future!) and then I became fascinated with the brand, which has so many different kinds of serums for different needs.
I got some sample sizes of the two serums that interested me the most, Medik8 Hydr8 B5 and CE-Tetra.
CE-Tetra is a Pro-Collagen Vitamin C Serum which is great for preventing wrinkles and general anti-ageing.
This recommended for people aged 40s onwards – there’s also one called C-Tetra which is less strong and good for women from their 20s-40s (I wanted to try the stronger one for the sake of it!)
Hyrdra8 is a Skin Rehydration Serum with Hyaluronic Acid and B5. This should provide 24 hours of hydration!
So I had some small samplers to try out and I did so for the space of about 3 weeks a few months ago….I have this idea in my head that if I can find the right serums, I can use them instead of using a cream or a cream + serum.
So I used these two products in conjunction with each other for a few weeks and although I can’t say how it would perform over a fixed period like 6 months I can say that both of these products worked quite nicely.
The Hydr8 B5 was a nice hydrator for my dry skin – it wasn’t AS hydrating as I expected when used on its own but with the CE-Tetra serum it was great.
The CE-Tetra I noticed brightened my skin up considerably after about a week of use. I’m not sure about wrinkles…my skin did feel softer though.
I was happy with how these serums worked together – both are light so they sunk in quickly and left a non-sticky finish.
Would I buy a full size in the future?
Yes I would. Not right now because I have lots of other skincare to test but I’d consider using Medik8 next time I’m looking for some new skincare products.
Have you ever tested some skincare samples and loved them?
