So I have finally decided to sort out my blog sale pile (it has been a while since I’ve done one) and my god, it was a real task. Tons of things thrown away that I don’t think are fit for selling, even never opened mascaras just in case, and lots of new things added…I am debating whether to sell my Chanel eyeshadow collection because I never wear them…we’ll see. I can’t help but be attached to some beauty products.
Anyway as I was sorting through my absolutely ridiculous piles of make up (how much money wasted?!) I found a few things that I realised I didn’t want to part with! Here is what I rescued from the piles.
1. Jill Stuart Powder Foundation
Because these cost a fortune (about £40) and I barely use them. I love the packaging and I don’t think I can get this formula any more (it was called fluffy something or another) so I decided to keep it.
2. LA Girl Concealer in Toast
This is obviously too dark but I use this for contouring. I played with it and didn’t bother again but I’ve seen it used in some tutorials so rather than buy it again I will just play with this.
3a and 3b. Etude House Rose Tint Lips
I’ve got in to these Korean style cream tints, and I really like berries and rich browns at the moment so it makes sense to keep these!
4. Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Penelope Pink
I didn’t even know I owned this, that’s how much make up I have. I think I can get some use out of this universal nude lipstick especially as I have been experimenting with bright colours on the eyes.
5. Jill Stuart Shadows
You can’t buy these any more so it seemed daft to sell them for cheap when the colours are quite unique and pretty. I tend to be quite ruthless then change my mind when given the chance!
6. YSL Glossy Stain in Beige Aquarelle
I wanted to sell this because it’s so pale and colourless HOWEVER – I recently got reaquainted with this formula and it’s brilliant for busy mama’s like me because they are a. light feeling b. pigmented but natural at the same time c. long lasting d. stain-like. This is the vital point – I kiss my kids all day long and I refuse to wear something that will smear on them as it means I have to chase them around with a flannel (they do not like having their faces wiped!). Because this is pretty much transfer proof without being drying, it means it’s the perfect every day lip colour.
I am also in to the ombre lip and this beige will be perfect for blending with brighter shades.
7. NARS Venus Highlighter
I don’t even remember buying this – I swear I don’t accumulate make up at the level I used to but I have amnesia when it comes to stuff I bought a while ago. This is a highlighting powder which is sparkly – it is SPARKLY. It is not for you if you like subtle shimmer, you know, this is glitter BUT it’s not as hideous as the chunky glitter in Super Orgasm blush. I actually think it looks quite pretty on the skin but it is not as etherial as say, Dior Amber Diamond which is one of my favourites.
It has a gritty texture compared to Albatross, but I am not in to the gold tone on that highlighter (this one is more whitish) but for some reason, Venus seems to photograph well on my skin tone. Have I ever told you about NARS Sertao? One if my favourite blush highlighters ever. That is one thing I will probably have buried with me…my Nars blusher collection. 😀
Are there any make up products you would rescue?
