I was sent a selection of random Make Up Atelier cosmetics, and decided to have a little play with them at the weekend. And boy did we have some fun!
The Make Up Atelier Paris range if you are not familiar with is, is quite vast; it’s a professional artists range and there are a huge amount of products to suit all skin tones and types. I have three products here - Black Star Red T174, Iridescent Smoke Y243, Lipstick in B34 Sandy Pink.
Black Star Red is a beautiful reddish cranberry- there’s no black, but I would say it has a blackish tone. Iridescent smoke is a taupe brown, a molly colours with shimmers.
The texture of these shadows is excellent – as good as if not better than MAC.
Both of these have a very smooth texture and the shimmer is gives a fine metallic finish. Swatches:
The lipstick is B34 Sandy Pink – it’s a neutral oyster pink. The lipstick looked waxy to me but it’s actually very soft to apply, almost like a gloss in a stick. The colour is sheer, and it leaves a sort of silvery pink glow to the lips.
I wore the colours together and I LOVED how it looked. Reddish eyeshadow is always a funny one because sometimes it can make your eyes look sore but with the taupe, it seemed to be toned down. I never wear colours like red or pink with black liner or something to define the eyes, cos then it does look a bit ‘bruised eye’!
I had compliments on this make up = I would definitely wear it again…I have at thing for burgundy shadows now! I am also wearing the lipstick here;
I was super impressed with these eyeshadows and the lipstick although I would definitely want to try it in a brighter colour. I love both of the two shades.
