Make Up Atelier Eyeshadow Palette in T15 Brun Dore Review

July 8, 2013 |

I am currently really rather loving Make Up Atelier’s eyeshadow palettes – a collection of 5 complementary buttery soft colours in a clear lidded compact, and all for £25.

So far I have reviewed T23 Neons, a ultra bright matte palette. On the other side is this shimmery and on the more natural side bronzy palette, T15 in Brun Dore.

Of all the palettes I have seen so far, I love the way that Make Up Atelier compile their palettes – she colours really do go together well and it’s a nice way to have almost all the shades you’d need from a colour group – for example Brun Dore for me has all the orangey-coppers that I would ever need in one place.  There’s a highlight and lining shade in there too.

It makes sense that this is a Make Up Artists brand, but it’s very accessible (sometimes I find pro/stage type brands aren’t really for me and I prefer consumer ranges).  I don’t find Make Up Atelier palettes are out of place at all with my other palettes.

Brun Dore is an exceptionally lovely palette (and of course, each palette has strengths and weaknesses).  This one is like BUTTAH…I mean it is so so smooth and pigmented – better than any of my coppery MAC oranges.

The shades from left to right; a white-gold highlighter – like NARS Albatross highlighter. An absolute beauty.  If I have one criticism of this palette that it is quite soft and this shade cracked on my (I rarely crack my eyeshadow palettes) so be careful with it!

Next across is an orange gold, very summery, then a rich coppery brown orange which is the kind of shade I’d normally go URGH but is actually really lovely on.  A nice contrast for blue eyes but also flattering on borne eyes. The next colours is a brown copper which is is a nice crease colour, then a dark nutty brown for more dramatic looks or lining.

Once again the texture of this particular palette is excellent all round – but that white-gold in particular – gorgeous!  The shimmer is extremely fine and wearable.

For £25 you get all 5 shades which is good value – each shade is generous and of course it works out as £5 a colour but you get it in a case too (it does have that look of ‘put it together yourself palettes’).  Considering the fact that one MAC shadow is £12.50 I would choose these palettes any day.

I have worn this palette quite a few times as it’s really easy going.

See the range of shadows here…sigh.  I find the range really interesting looking, don’t you?  T08 (greens) , T09 (purples) and 24 (looks like nudes) have my name on them!

Have you ever tried Make Up Atelier?
