Magnetic Nudes from MAC is a collection of lip, cheek, eye and skin colours with a rich, metallic, smokey, rich edge.
I have a selection of products here to review;
So what did I think of this vast collection?
Lip Colours in this collection have a pearly shimmery or metallic edge. I need to tell you now that my sweet little boy managed to crush these two lipsticks into oblivion (sob). But I managed to test these colours before he did!
Morning Rose is a pretty medium toned rose with silvery pearl, very wearable with every day. Topped with Oh My Darlind, a pale pink oyster like lip glass, you get a very pretty wearable nude.
Carnal Instinct is a rich deep purple brown plum with lots of rich gold shimmer which makes it quite unusual. Matched with Hellbound lip glass, you get a super deep, almost vampire-rish burgundy.
Oh My Darling is quite pale so works particularly well on top of another colour. It’s neutral enough to be worn with a selection of shades.
Hell bound is a pigmented rich copper which works well alone or topping up a suitable rich shade.
Here is the Morning Rose combination – it’s quite unusual for me in that it has a really pearly pinky edge – I usually leave out the pearl but I like how it makes the lips look fuller:
Carnal Instinct and Hell Bound creates a really dramatic rich chocolate copper. As the colour fades the glitter (gold) really shows through which I really like – it’s a fun element to an otherwise serious colour:
I absolutely love the Fluidline colours with this collection; Chilled is an ivory with a ton of micro sparkles (have been using this as a base as it sets very well and doesn’t run), quite frankly it’s better than a lot of cream eyeshadows and eye paints for durability anyway. It’s Physical is a gorgeous metallic lavender-taupe with this unusual micro sparkle – I can’t think of anything else like it I have in my collection.
Using these quite regularly, I think I will be adding more fluid lines to my collection because these kinds of shades definitely work well as shadows or liners.
The extra dimension eyeshadow in this collection also work well if you like semi-sheer metallic shades for a wash of colour.
Platinum Love is a cool toned true silver.
Silver Dawn is not a silver but a grey taupe colour – pretty pretty.
For the cheeks, Magnetic Appeal is a Skinfinish Powder in a beautiful soft golden peach tan which works well as a highlighter. This is so pretty on the eyes or just on top of the cheeks.
Pleasure Model blusher is a warm toned apple peach. It is more wearable then you’d imagine (it looks somewhat reddish in the pan) but actually swatches to a beauty apple-y shade with little shimmer.
I have been using the Fluidlines and eyeshadows quite a lot – because the combination is quick and easy to do, and also long lasting. This is definitely one for glitter and shimmer fans, as the glitter stays in place:
(A mixture of Silver Dawn in the crease, Chilled on the lid and It’s Physical as a base).
See the collection here. Overall a very wearable collection!
