Liz Earle’s iconic Cleanse & Polish, a beautiful thick cream cleanser, has had a special little make over for the 20th anniversary in the form of three full sized cleansers in a collectors tin. It’s not just the tin though! It’s the fact that all three of the cleansers have special fragrances which is not normally available! Eek!
It’s funny, I couldn’t appreciate the Cleanse & Polish cleanser as much when I was younger as I do now. Now I really appreciate how gentle and soothing the cleanser is and how if you take the time to work it in it really removes the dirt and grime as well as being quite a relaxing cleanse – I have sensitive skin and I can’t always massage in a cleanser because many just make my skin react if its on there for too long.
Here’s whats inside the tin!
You get three versions of the original cleanser, all are really genuinely lovely but of course we will all have a favourite!
Rose & Lavender (very soft, relaxing scent, really nice in the evenings)
Orange Flower & Chamomile (soft citrus, reminds me of cake)
Grapefruit and Patchouli (refreshing but soft too, I really like this one if I need waking up!)
The bottles are also a special design, each one relates to the scent which is such a nice touch. You could even buy this and split the cleanser as gifts for friends (AND KEEP THE TIN FOR YOURSELF!!!).
The texture is the same as the regular Cleanse and Polish, thick white creamy rich cleanser.
Mother has already stolen a set from me to use – she has oily skin and for a long time didn’t get why I would use a cream cleanser as opposed to a foaming one but when this is used with a muslin cloth or flannel (this comes with 2 muslins) with warm or hot water (I do like hot water even though you’re not supposed to!) it really makes the skin feel clean with no residue (what the mother doesn’t like!) and is also relaxing to use. I much prefer it to foaming type cleansers.
To be fair I don’t really do a full cleanse in the morning, I don’t have time – so I just do this in the evenings. I find it sufficiently removes all my make up (not mascara but pretty much only my specific remover will remove my bomb proof mascara). These three bottles will last me a long time.
As these are full size this tin would last you a decent amount of time depending how much product you like to use!
Verdict: What a lovely gift….for yourself!
This set IS limited edition – the full Liz Earle range is available from John Lewis’ and the kit is £50 and available here. One 100ml usually costs £15.50 so you are actually only paying £3.50 more for the tin and three limited edition scents and bottles (unless you just like the plain jane version, in which case, crack on).
