I am a huge fan of liquid eyeliners; my favourite type is the pen sort that looks like a felt tip pen but has some give in the nib. Additionally, I usually likes ones you can pump so you can control the amount of product coming through. I personally find that the refillable pens are inkier and deeper than the ones that are disposable. Ever since my Shu Uemura one died (the nib began to fray) I have been looking for a good one to replace it.
Enter the Coffret D’or liquid eyeliner. This was a completely random purchase, no particular reason other than I like refillable pens.
This eyeliner has a long name.
Let me do a translation for you:
Coffret D’or Black Keep Liner WP Super Sharp =
Kanebo Long Lasting Waterproof Eyeliner capable of very thin lines
Here is the refill which comes in a packet like a fountain pen refill:
You get one refill with this product.
Here is the actual pen. It does look like a fountain pen and I had trouble trying to get the cartridge on to it – it required a LOT of force, I thought I was going to end up breaking it. Just a warning there if you end up buying this unfortunately you need to give it quite a hard bang!
After a few moments the ink starts running through! There’s no pumping action though! The ink just flowed through nicely.
In many respects, a plain black eyeliner whether it’s a pencil, gel or liquid isn’t that interesting; it’s just an eyeliner. I don’t necessarily review every eyeliner I buy to use because there’s nothing that interesting to say about it.
This Coffret D’or eyeliner warrants a mention because it is really quite excellent for the following reasons:
1) It is VERY long lasting – it stays in place all day without smudging or running.
2) The brush is nice, it’s nice and soft and bends at will but not too much so
3) The flow of ink is excellent, far better than I expected actually. It’s always nice and inky, and one line is deep enough, no need to go over the line again
I have been using this consistently every day as I do like the liner under my lashes and above, and it just works really well. Here are the thick and thin lines you can do with this pen:
Not bad! You can definitely control the width of this line quite easily.
YES to this product. If you want a super easy to use liquid eyeliner that lasts well and just works then this Coffret D’or eyeliner is a great choice.
