Lips of the Day! Vitage Natural Lip Lustre Mineral Lip Gloss in Coral Dream Review!

It’s Friday, Friday, so let’s keep it sweet and simple today. My lips of the day comes from a brand that is new to me called Vitage; a British skincare and mineral make up brand.  Quite often I find that mineral make up brands can be lacking when it comes to the colour cosmetics; colours can be a bit meh and…earthy.  Yes…earthy.

Vitage’s Natural Lip Lustre’s do not shy away from being colourful!

Coral Dream is a bright reddish coral with lots of silver sparkles.

If you are expecting an orange-peach coral then this is not it – this is very much a red-orange which is not what I was expecting but is still a very pretty summery shade.  It looks very glittery in the tube, almost like a diamond colour.

The texture of this lip gloss is different to your standard say, MAC lip gloss.  The product feels neither thin nor thick when spread and maintains a good amount of pigmentation – it’s not sticky or too glossy either – it feels more like a balm in a way.  It does feel like you haven’t picked up enough product on the wand – I don’t know if thats the wand design or the texture of the product, btut it felt like I need to ‘dip’ 3 times to get enough product out to cover my lips.

The shimmers are still obvious when the colour is swatched but is not so obvious when applied to the lips.

I was surprised by how pigmented this lip gloss was – a lot of glosses that look bright in the tube are quite sheer, but this was pigmented and I only needed one layer to have quite reddish lips.  The shimmer disappeared though and was less obvious than in the swatch – depending on how you feel about glitter, this could be a good or bad things!

I also noticed that the gloss left a nice orange stain on my lips – when the glossy finish faded, I still looked like I was wearing something on my lips.

I found that this lip gloss was quite moisturising and didn’t emphasise any dry spots or flakiness, which is a big bonus for me!

Verdict:

For anyone who wants to try mineral make up, this bright summery shade is very pigmented and is kind to the lips.  I tend to favour orange/peach or nude shades so if I were to get another of these, I would definitely try out the nude.

Vitage Natural Lip Lustre’s are available from Beauty Bay for £14 each.

  1. Can I just say… I’m a bit obsessed with your lip swatches. Your lips are gorgeous! Eek, that sounded a bit creepy :)

  2. Clare, this is perfectly normal. I hate her guts 99.7% of the time but whenever I see one of her lip swatches, I just wanna smooshy snog her.
