There are so many beauty boxes going around now (Glossy Box, Jolie Box etc.) and if you don’t know what they are – basically for a monthly subscription fee, you get a selection of random beauty goodies. Sometimes they can be full size, often they are minis. If you are unlucky they’ll be sachets 🙂
Everyone has a different opinion on them – I personally find them interesting to get but if I am honest, they are so damn varied (some months are excellent, some are total drivel) that it’s hard to recommend.
Now – The Fragrance Shop has launched a Discovery Club, which sends members fragrance samples and discounts every quarter (that’s every 3 months, my dear).
Each box will contain 5 samples and a booklet with a £5 discount for each of the scents featured.
There will be 4 boxes per year and it costs £5 per box. Membership can be cancelled at any time and currently, the box features female scents, although a male one will launch early 2013.
I am actually quite interested in this box because I am not a huge perfume buyer; my current collection has my old favourites like Chole, Stella, a Jo Malone assortment, some Chanel etc. I am a scent grazer – so these little samples will do me for a good few months and if I really really love one, I will buy the full size. And I am very black and white with fragrance, I tend to love it or hate it!
So for me it would be a good chance to try something new out – I will never be one of those people who stand in Boots and douse themselves in perfume from the cabinets as if drowning in perfume is remotely attractive….
On the other hand you can argue that perfume samples can be obtained for free – that’s true but I find it’s harder to get them from counters these days so I guess it would save in effort.
Of the scents in this box I was sent, I like the Boss Nuit fragrance and the Lancome. I already have Paco Rabanne Lady Million for when I’m feeling chavvy (oh come on, how LOUD is that scent?!). If I saw the BOSS on offer (like in the New Years sales) I would think about buying it.
What do you think of the idea of a fragrance sample box?
