Janjira Marine Radiant White Product Review; Brightening Eye Lift, Brightening Booster Serum and Instant Brightening Bubble Mask.

October 21, 2015 |

You may not have heard of the brand Janjira before; this Spa inspired brand draws in Thai influences to create a range that is environmentally friendly and free from paragons, sulphates and artificial colours. I was first introduced to the band via some body products which I really liked using – they were very spa-like! Who doesn’t want to pretend they’re in a spa (sigh)?

This time I have some facial skincare from the range to try! The range is called Marine White, which concentrates on brightening the skin!

I have the Brightening Eye Lift, Brightening Booster Serum and Instant Brightening Bubble Mask.

I like whitening/brightening ranges – as I have got older I appreciate different things, like smooth bright radiant skin.  In the old days I would have rejected anything that I perceived as lightening the skin but now I realise that is not the point – the skincare is used to make the skin look radiant, not to whiten it.

So firstly, the eye lift. They say this:

 – Brightens eye area

 – Prevents grey-yellow under eye circles

 – Strengthens delicate under eye skin

 – Protects skin from pollution

 – Intensively moisturises skin

The eye lift is a very lightweight white colours serum which is not as heavy as a cream but feels like a rich serumy texture.  I was concerned this wouldn’t be hydrating enough but actually, it does a good job at keeping my eyes feeling hydrated.  I use this in the day because it has a direct applicator which is metal and therefore cooling and makes the product easy to apply. In the evening I use a richer eye cream though, but I like the cooling applicator for the day.

I am afraid with my lack of sleep the circle are still there but this eye lift feels refreshing and keeps things feeling hydrated.

The Booster Serum they say:

– Has a Instant lifting effect

 – Brightening

 – Anti-aging properties

 – Moisturising

 – Clearer and smoother skin

This was a bit of a ‘everything’ serum for me.  I used it with no issues for a few weeks and I found it adding an extra layer of hydration to the skin and make everything feel plumped and soft. I didn’t see improvement to pigmentation but it worked best as a hydrator for me. After a few weeks my skin reacted a little to this so I stopped using it but i’ve kept it to add in again when my skin is feeling less reactive.

Finally the Instant Brightening Bubble Mask reminds me Bliss’ Oxygen face mask (I love that stuff!).  They say this:

– Has an instant bubbling effect

 – Detoxifies skin

 – Illuminating effect

 – Reduces appearance of dark spots

 – Anti-oxidant protection

Here is the product before it activates:

Again I did not see a reduction of the dark spots on my skin but it definitely looked BRIGHTER at least in the short term right afterwards.

You are told to use this for a few minutes (3-4) and I left it on for about 10 – not a good idea! My skin felt dry and uncomfortable after that, so the next time I stuck to the rules and my skin was much better – you don’t need this on for too long to get the bright effect.  I don’t know how much good this mask does for the short amount of time it is on the skin but say you are going out somewhere special or even just to meet your ex (!) – you know, a quick last minute thing, this mask will look you look like you got some rest beforehand!
