Hourglass Illume Creme to Powder Bronzer and Blush Duo Review and Swatches

I have been looking for cosmetics that are quick and easy to use since I barely have time to apply make up these days. This Hourglass Illume product caught my eye as it does the bronzing and blushing all in one product! I also like the sound of their formulations.

I’m impressed by the Hourglass formulation – this product is; Oil free, paraben free, wax free, fragrance free, sulfate free, phthalate free, synthetic dye free. Makes you wonder what else is left in there, right!?

The packaging looks expensive, however it’s quite light weight and plasticy – I don’t know how I feel about this. On one hand, with it being light, it’ll be easier to carry around but when a product costs £30, I feel that it should be quite sturdy and heavyweight.

A nice quirk though is the mirror which is long and can be spun around! Quite a cute touch.

There are equal portions (so to speak) of bronzer and blush.  Both of the colours are nice and I found they suited my medium skin tone (can’t really say how it will go for pale or dark skinned girls) even though I thought it would be too light to begin with.

The bronze looks orange in the pan – I do think there is an orange to it but it’s not horrible, it quite a soft warm bronze.  The blush is a neutral pinky peach blush which is just a really nice colour. Both products don’t have any glitter or sparkle.

I really really really liked the formula! Which surprised me since it apparently leaves out so many ingredients other products have!

The texture is very wet to start with, it feels oily (which it can’t be as it’s oil free) but it has a lot of slip. I find products with lots of slip can be sheer but these have really good pigmentation (as you can see from my swatches) so only a small amount is needed.

They apply nicely, blend nicely and look quite flattering on!

On my cheek using both colours, bronze below the blush:

I bought this product for £40 from Zuneta – which is pricey! But I really do like it, I like the fact it is free of additives and that is applies and wears so nicely. I’d definitely consider trying more things from their range.
