My matey got hold of this for me from the US – a special set of four Stila smudge pots. I love cream eyeshadows so this is just up my street:
This unique gel eyeliner and shadow is an innovative alternative to traditional powder and liquid formulas. This clever little gel has an inky intensity that leaves powder shadows in the dust. A favorite for the sultry, smoky eye.
Apply with a liner brush for razor-sharp precision or smudge it with your fingers for more complete coverage. Remember to always close the airtight lid to keep the gel soft and pliable.
That’s right, Rowena. Remember to keep that lid on tight….
Four shades (in mini pots) and a little brush are included in the set. You get four shades, Black, Kitten (a champagne with shimmer), Starry Night (deep bold blue – gorgeous) and Violet (a purple).
Even though these aren’t full sized pots I am quite happy with the mini size – you get plenty regardless of whether you use these as a shadow or liner, also these kinds of products always start to dry out after a while and, I finally have half a chance of finishing something.
A really useful shimmery light beige colour – I am sure there is a liquid shadow and shadow in the colour so I am sure it needs no introduction.
This would work well as an eyeshadow base. I seldom – infact I never apply a shadow without a primer or some kind of slightly wet/sticky base first so this is perfect.
Violet is very vivid, somewhere between a blue and a purple with no (or barely detectable) shimmer. Its super pretty, and unusual too.
More of a dark twilight type blue, with sparkle. Very wearable, very pretty, makes a nice change from black!
Everyone needs a basic black gel liner/shadow – I must have about 10 so whats another to the collection! My favourite gel liners come from Bobbi Brown and Clinique – this Stila smudge pot in black is another.
What this does have over the Bobbie Brown is that I find Bobbi’s can flake a little if I put too much on, and when it sets, its there fore good. I feel like Stila’s (perhaps because it is a shadow as well as a liner) stays wet for longer and is more pliable to work with.
This was a great buy – I haven’t owned a Stila smudge pot for years, but this has reminded me that the range is pigmented, versatile and just lovely to use. It stays put and is a little more flexible to work with than gel liner – I will most likely use these pots as a base for my shadows any how.
See the product here – I had mine shipped in from the US.
