For clean, sparkly eyes: Optrex Multi Action Eye Wash Review

Regular candy readers will know I have a thing for eye drops and general eye care products due to having sensitive peepers.

Eye baths are a must for me, especially because I love my sparkly eye make up and youd be surprised after your first eye bath how much gunk comes out of there!

Now, I like Rohto Lycee Eye Wash a lot (it lasts FOREVER) but it’s hard to get hold of and whilst it refreshes it doesnt feel like it cleans as much as it could.

Enter a very accessible eye wash, Optrex Multi Action Eye Wash:

They say:

Optrex Multi Action Eye Wash has also been designed to help tackle the effects of age and modern living, such as tired and uncomfortable eyes caused by contact lens wear, driving, computer use, manual work, smoky or polluted environments.

If you have never used eye wash before, it’s nothing to be scared of – it doesn’t sting but it will feel cool.

Tip the liquid in, up to the line measure and cover your eye, tip your head back and swish side to side for 30 seconds.

You should see the crap in the water once you tip your head forward. Obviously if you don’t wear make up it might not be so obvious, on my it’s like glitter water!

This eye wash will also clean and refresh the eyes – it’s ingredients are witch hazel and water. Obviously, these product will be suitable for eye use it’s not the same as buying some witch hazel and mixing it up with some tap water yourself!

So my thoughts – I REALLY like this product. I will absolutely buy this in the future – because it’s a highly refreshing but also cleansing eye wash.

I noticed that with this, you get a really white clean eye afterwards plus the gunk comes out or sticky bits (eww) will sort of quickly gather in the corner of you eye so you can remove.

The only downside is you go through this quickly. There’s a larger size which I will buy, this small one only lasted a week (of daily cleansing – remember you need fresh liquid for each eye). The Rohto eye was I like on the other hand requires just a small amount each time as it’s eye bath is a ‘teat’ shape. Perhaps Optrex needs to think of something like that so it’s more economical?!

Verdict: Must try for cleaner eyes!

This stuff is sold in Boots, Superdrug, Supermarkets, EVERYWHERE pretty much.

  1. Ooh I love this! It makes my eyes so sparkly! I hate the packaging too though, I through this sooo quickly and one time I knocked it over and ended up going from a full bottle to a half full one ><

  2. I love the Rohto lychee eye drops and eye wash too…it’s a shame their products are so hard to get hold of in the UK! Have you ever tried the Japanese menthol-y super-cleansing eyewashes (can’t remember the brand name!)…I bought one in Japan to try and there was a tremendous amount of muck that came out of my eyes after a day of sight-seeing, plus they felt extra fresh afterwards lol

  3. I like the sound of getting rid of the gunk, but the actually tipping back & opening & closing my eye while liquid is moving around is too much. I do want to try it though, just need to stop thinking about putting stuff in my eye!

  4. Will definitely be giving this a go!
