How good can a £3 lip gloss be?
Well, elf (or eyes lip face) is going to show you. I remember when I first discovered the range and everything was £1. I was quite young back then, and I found that with £20 I could buy 20 different things to try out – heaven!
These days the price of elf has gone up but in the grand scheme of things, it’s still an extremely good value brand. I also think that the packaging and range has got better and better – I do really love their HD powder, which is not far behind my Dior Extreme Fix powder.
elf now have a mineral make up range, consisting of foundations, concealer, blush, lip gloss, lipstick, bronzer – just tons of different products!
On my lips today is one of their Mineral Lip Glosses!
The sheer tint of color is the perfect hue to give you a beautiful and natural glossy look. Infused with key vitamins A & E to protect and moisturize your lips. All our mineral makeup is 100% mineral based with no parabens, no preservatives and no chemical dyes.
This lip gloss looks pretty pigmented in the tube. I do think the packaging is excellent for a bargain brand – they kept it simple which is good.
The shade I was sent was Bare. It’s a brown-beige nude, just my kind of colour and has no sparkles in it. It is a sheer texture and finish. It has a mildly plumping effect on my lips – it doesn’t claim to do this but I just found the shine and this shade worked well for making my lips look full(er)! It also made my lips look hydrated, and healthier I think!
I couldn’t smell any fragrance – once again a good thing, no scent is a million times better than a cheap scent.
On my lips:
To be frank, the colour is nothing unique or special. It’s nothing you haven’t seen before yet I kind of like it because it’s an every day shade to me.
Something about this lip gloss just reminds me of MAC Lip Glasses! But not as sticky! In fact it’s not a very sticky gloss at all!
At £3 I will definitely buy some in the future – I have my eye on Trophy Wife (sparkly gold), Fierce (looks like a bright coral) and Wild (looks like a bright peach pink). I also won’t be too scared of losing this lip gloss, as I do on average lose one make up item per week.
What do you think of these lip glosses?
