Aloha! It’s been a week or so since I last posted – I’ve been suffering from some kind of Winter fatigue. Extreme tiredness. But alas I have lots of lovely things to show you.
Etude House’s release a few weeks back is Berry Delicious – a largish release of eyeshadow, blushers, lip tints – I don’t know how Korean brands continually come up with so many new ideas and ranges, because I always tell myself I won’t buy any more but then I do – I can’t resist the cuteness.
I was extremely controlled however with this collection and purchased one thing only (I didn’t say Korean cosmetics couldn’t be samey at times!) – a Liquid Lips in a weird colour, GR701 which is a pale mint!
The Color in Liquid Lips range exists already (here is my review of 4 colours) so these are new shades for this particular collection – lots of pretty bright fruity reds. And green. GREEN. When I was a teenager I badly wanted this green lipstick that changed colour (I forget the name of the company – Ultra something) and I pestered my mum until she bought it for me. I loved it dearly although the colour was a weird neon pink – I believed that it honestly changed to a magic lip colour just for me. I am pretty sure it was a universally ugly pink on everyone actually.
So the lip tint looks cute, and yes the mint green turns in to a pink – once again they say it’s supposed to be a shape shifting pink that changes depending on how sexy the person is – I mean – the persons lips. Body heat. Hormones? Who knows.
You can see on the applicator it’s already turning! That applicator is different to the other ones i own, I think and the well in the middle is supposed to hold colour but it doesn’t. It’s sort of hard and difficult to spread and doesn’t pick up much colour – very strange I’ve never really disliked an Etude House applicator before…
So the shade is a cool toned lavender based pink. Not really my kinda thing as I like warmer tones, but hey, it’s not that dark, it’s totally ok for day to day. I am afraid you don’t get to enjoy the green colour because it turns almost right away in to the pink and on me it kept ‘cooking’ until it was a medium cool toned slightly frosty feeling pink. It’s just fine, not an extraordinary shade but one I imagine would look fine on most people. It’s slightly sheer too.
One thing that is good about this liquid lip is it stains the lip (is this a good thing) and lasts a long time as a pretty stain. Korean colours tend to to this, they are big in to staining which is a good thing for me as it means I can kiss the kids and I don’t wipe make up off on them (they hate having their faces wiped, their Royal Highnesses’) and I can eat and drink and still have a bit of colour left over. Good for lazy people this.
On my lips. My foundation is too pale here btw:
