I don’t necessarily like everything that Etude House releases – I find the quality of Japanese brands generally is more consistent than Korean – however, I completely, totally love how creative and innovative they are with their new releases. They somehow manage to look like ‘Etude House’ but always come up with a totally new concept and look each season that’s hard for me to resist – the price point is also quite low, so for the price of one Nars compact, I can get 3 lip colours and an eyeshadow palette!
Unfortunately I was powerless to resist the new Rose Collection. It is perfect – PERFECT for Autumn (sorry, I just can’t call it Fall, any more than I can call a pavement a sidewalk!).
I have found that Korean brands are releasing braver colours and textures than Japanese brands generally do (not that this post is about a fight off – it’s just that I have naturally made the progression from buying lots of Japanese make up to Korean so I can’t help comparing).
They also choose models that really show off the collections – I find Japanese brands choose Western models or westernised looking Asian models a lot – it’s not a problem but then I think, why not show these cosmetics on the face of a model that your main consumers can actually relate to? Anyway, I digress.
‘And Rose’ consists of 8 matte lip creams in PERFECT COLOURS FOR AUTUMN, one 10 colour eyeshadow palette, a nail polish yet and four eyeliners.
The lip tints are creamy and leave a matte finish. The applicator is an interesting sponge which you can use to pat the colour on to the lips – it can be worn as a full colour or in the centre of the lip, and also on the cheeks and eyes.
The colours – I ordered 3. Can you guess which ones?
Obviously I bought the eyeshadow palette – I LOVE multi use palettes:
I have been wearing burgundy lately on my eyes and really like it but I can see why some people may find it a bit scary:
Four eyeliners:
I might get After Blossom…we’ll see!
There are also 4 polishes in a sheer white, soft pink, bright pink and red that come as kits with lace you can lay over the nail…I must admit my interest in Korean nail polishes are quite low as I find they chip so easily!
Anything here pique your interest?
