I’ve had these products from Delarom for months and months and only now am I getting the chance to give it all a write up.
Delarom is a skincare brand from France, from the Benet family, who previously owned Decleor and Darphin (and yes, Delarom is totally similar to these two other brands!). This range is supposed to toe the line between being natural and eco-friendly, whilst being advanced technologically and providing anti-aging results to the skin.
Each product uses aromatherapy and ‘aromacology’ in the products, and the scents give different results, i.e., energising or balancing.
Delarom comes in apricot packaging – I don’t know why but I find it quite eye catching and appearing. Darphin and Decleor I think, also had strong colour associations – Darphin in the minty green boxes and Decleor in the trademark yellow. Far more interesting than plain white.
So what do these products do?
“The Revitality Balm fights against epidermal dehydration and repairs the hydrolipidic barrier, encouraging microcirculation and better tissue oxygenation.”
“The Balancing aroma and its anti–free radical action and active ingredients help visibly reduce wrinkles and fine lines leaving the skin to appear younger and more radiant.”
I am a bit fan of both facial balms and facial oils too so both of these products are right up my street.
They come in brown glass bottles as above and feel luxurious without being over the top.
The Revitality Balm has a thick balm (duh) texture, which melts quickly and applies well on the skin. There’s an orangey-scent which is blissful if you are into aromatherapy and spa like scents like I am (nothing smells as good as a Decleor spa!). My skin is dry so seemed to like this product which seemed to seal in moisture. It sinks in but leaves a slight seal on the skin which doesn’t feel tacky but is quite rich.
Something I did notice with this balm is that is can feel gritty. The gritty pieces melt down with warmth but as someone who used to make skincare with balms and oils, I know that overheating the balm can cause grittiness. I don’t know if this is the cause here and whilst it doesn’t affect how nice the product is overall, I would’ve preferred it to have a fully smooth texture, especially at the price point it is at.
The Facial Oil as a softer more floral scent to me. This is a lovely lightweight oil which is nice just to dab on the skin at night and the scent is very nice indeed. I am a fan of the Decleor facial oils – think of this one as a more lightweight, easier to use texture that doesn’t leave the skin feeling greasy and therefore works quite well even under make up.
