Always a sucker for a new beauty tool, I was intrigued when I saw this clever little invention, designed to help Make Up Artists or make up fanatics like myself clean their brushes quickly so they can switch colour without finding another brush or using a brush cleaner.
Here it is in the box:
Ok what are you thinking right now? Eh? I don’t get it? What’s the point when I could just clean the brush? Well….
For me personally, I switch colours day to day, and I am quite often in a rush. It means whilst I have a ton of brushes I don’t necessarily have them all in front of me and I can’t always be bothered using lots of brushes. Quite frequently I use a brush for a dark colour, then the next day forget and I use it for a base colour like cream, but instead I get….GREY. All over my lid. ARGHHHHH.
Anyway, this tool is different to just washing your make up brush because there isn’t the hassle of cleaning it with soapy cleanser (if that’s what you use) or waiting for it to dry (if you use isopropyl alcohol like I do, there’s usually some drying off time). That’s not to say it can substitute giving all your brushes a good wash, it’s just a quick way day to day to quickly get colour out of your brushes.
Here is the tin;
I have the Duo version which has the white sponge core that you can add water too, for when you use wet/dry products (a nice way to control the amount of water you use).
Here it is! When I saw it I was thinking…is that it?! It’s lightweight and it just looks like a densely packed wiry sponge type thing (it’s not actually wire it has more of a dense rubbery feel).
A closer look:
So to test! I grabbed the nearest palette and brush and dipped it heavily in the darkest colour:
Then I brushed it against the surface a few times. Can this thing seriously work? Hmmm. It doesn’t really feel like it’s doing anything the material is just totally dry.
I swiped the brush on my hand afterwards as you can see NO COLOUR LEFT:
I then had a go on a wet wipe – a tiny trace of make up came off but it’s not anything that would affect make up application if I were to move on to another colour:
I am really quite impressed by this product. For one thing I wasn’t sure if it would actually work for one thing as it seems so simple but it works a treat and it’s great for just quickly doing your make up with that favourite brush. You can also buy refills for this as required.
