For Christmas, Jessica have this gorgeous 5 piece Nail Polish Set called the Heritage Collection. I have only ever bought Jessica when it’s been in a gift get (they’re just the best value) and I am happy with the texture and finish of their polishes.
In this particular kit is Antique (Metallic Gunmetal), Estate (Shimmering Royal Blue) and Tradition (Creme Pine Green).
Sound festive? I think so, and a nice alternative to the usual Golds and Reds. You also get the Reward Base Coat and Brilliance Top Coat in this set for £21.00.
Closer look at the colours:
You get 7.4ml of colour (7.5ml of the base coat) so it’s pretty generous and more than enough for me.
I’ve always had a soft spot for cooler colours so this set with a combination of green, blue and silver is ideal for me!I thought that these polishes were quick to apply and non-streaky; I also liked the shine that it gave on the nail. I do prefer polishes that are more liquid than thick (I find them harder to apply) and Jessica polishes are a great texture.
Tradition is a shimmer free dark green. I am not one for green polish but this one to me, looks dark enough to be wearable but without being too hardcore goth.
Antique is one of my favourites – this gives such an even, metallic silver finish. How perfect with this be for Barry M Nail Effects on top?! Yeah!
Estate is a beautiful aqua blue, with a hint of green to it. There’s a fine metallic look to it and it’s really pretty- I don’t know, although I wouldn’t wear blue to the office I can’t help but feel like this hue is as close to a wearable blue as there can be.
Verdict: What a lovely set of colours, totally up my street and the polishes are easy to apply and don’t chip easily. The addition of the base and top coat is really useful and it makes it a great gift because not everyone necessarily has (or bothers!) with a top and base coat.
