A few weeks back I had this urge to make a haul at Charlotte Tilbury – so I did. I swear I don’t do this type of hauls costing £50 any more – if I need a make up fix I tend to pick up something Korean and cute for about £5 online. But hey I bought some pretty useable products with my £50 – wanna see?!
My first purchase is the Online Exclusive Charlotte Tilbury lipstick from the Mate Revolution formula called Between The Sheets. This costs £23 and is a wearable soft rose pink. It looks brighter on the models than on real life – I expected it to be more of a retro pink but it’s more natural than that. Is this a bad thing? No, in the grand scheme of things a lipstick like this can be worn eternally…
As always the Charlotte Tilbury packaging is gorgeous – i love the deep brown/burgundy and gold. Although she may not be the first every time I see rose gold I now think of Charlotte’s brand. The lipstick packaging has a Estee Lauder look to it but it’s a nice sturdy heavy weight lipstick. I like the shape of the lipstick with the angles and curve – it sort of looks sexy.
I also purchase the lip liner in Pink Venus as it’s supposed to be a good companion for this colour. Swatches:
This lipstick has a creamy soft texture for a matte – it’s not dry but it’s not overly creamy either – it is just about right. The lipliner is not an exact match, it’s peachier and isn’t a true pink despite it’s name. However it also goes nicely with my Tom Ford lipstick in Spanish Pink. I wish it was retractable. Anyway, face pic at the end.
I also purchased this Colour Chameleon eye pencil in Champagne Diamonds.
It’s weird as I don’t love the formula more than my other eye crayons and yet I keep accumulating them because I love the shades. I also wish these were retractable as they require a lot of sharpening and I hate the wasted product.
I don’t have a light Colour Chameleon so I bought this – it’s a beige with a ton of glitter:
Whilst I don’t regret buying this – it works nicely as a base to my warm matte brown shadow because then you get the glitter poking through – I don’t think the texture of this is as good as with my other Colour Chameleons. This one just seems to be a bit more ‘draggy’ and it swatches better than on my eyes. On my eyes I feel like I have to scribble it on a good few times to get coverage.
Having said that it’s a nice base. The amount of glitter might put off some – I adore glitter so I like it but be aware it is real glitter as in slightly scratchy glitter (when applying). It doesn’t fall off or irritate the eye though which is great. It’s a bit too glittery for me to use all over as a base or under the brow.
Here is how the eye pencil and lips look together. I am happy with my purchases although they are quite safe colours I will get use out of all of them regularly, which is what you want when you are spending a lot of money on make up.
