I don’t know how Burberry did it, considering the fact that lots of fashion houses release cosmetic lines that eventually fail, but I think they have genuinely created a cosmetic range that is as good as it looks. Although I have only tried a few items from the range I’ve really liked everything I’ve tried so far.
Now on to the blush! This is my first Burberry blush, and it’s called Tangerine Glow:
As always with Burberry, the packaging is top notch – I hate brands charging premium prices and providing cheap lightweight cases. Burberry cases are always heavy and well made – even the cardboard it comes in has a luxurious feel.
The casing for this is a dark pewter with the Burberry tartan on top. I like that they have this in the pewter case because it is far more forgiving to the sticky fingers than a light silver case would be and as mentioned before, it is a heavy weight and substantial.
Tangerine Glow 06 is a contradiction in many ways. The name is scary; Tangerine?! Is it going to be a bright orange? Will it be garish!?
Well from seeing it breathe a sigh of relief; Tangerine Glow is a very elegant muted matte orange-peach with a stir of brown to tone it down.
It almost looks a bit milky in the pan, to the point that I presumed it would be rather frustratingly pale and unpigmented on my olive-tan skin.
The powder also has the Burberry tartan pattern and the brush is soft and decent enough for application.
Anyway- I was fooled again because the milky orange – as I would call it – is actually very pigmented and leaves a glow on the cheeks with just one little swipe – you do not to layer this up as I suspected you would, not AT ALL. It is PIGMENTED and leaves enough colour with just the lightest touch which is surprising because it doesn’t look like it can do that in the pan.
On a side note, it also has a light fragrance which reminds me of old school cosmetics.
Here I am w
earing the blush as you can see it’s quite natural:
Overall – I love this blusher! And I am quite indifferent to blusher ! I would definitely buy another of these is a practical pink and possible a brown!
