Bring on the Panda Eye! B & C Makemania Pencil Eyeliner Waterproof Review

I’ve realised that the B&C Labs Makemania range is a nice one – their silicone lip glosses are nice and they have a tempting range of eyeliners (liquid and pencil).

I purchased this sexy looking one because it’s the WP (Waterproof) version. I actually bought this months ago in preparation for my holidays:

First off, this pencil is indeed a great eye pencil. It’s very smooth, pigmented and works on my waterline. It’s highly opaque which is great and not too waxy, which I don’t like.

This pencil also contains squalane and hyaluronic acid. It reminds me of MAC Smoulder pencil in terms of pigmentation although this Makemania pencil is creamier. The crux of this product though, the USP in my opinion is it’s waterproofness…..because we want to look sexy, even by the pool, yah?

Except…it totally isn’t waterproof.

I am guessing they know this deep down because in the product listing it said “waterproof – which has many definitions”. Ah. I was thinking waterproof as in “water – proof”.

Here is a swatch – I can’t fault it for it’s super creamy rich texture and colour:

I wore this in the pool to test and for general sweaty days on holiday and it is 100% not waterproof, not even water resistant and like most creamy liners, it will slowly creep down your face during the day.

In a rock chick way, of course, but if you are looking for a waterproof eyeliner – or you are contemplating buying this for the waterproof element forget it – you’d be better with a Sharpie (don’t apply Sharpie to your eyes, please).

I still like this pencil, but I am not IN love with it.

I bought this for around £8 on eBay. Nice pencil but won’t repurchase since I can easily get a soft creamy black pencil on the high street.

What is your favourite black pencil?
