Benefit The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine Powder Review

I am always on the hunt for a good powder, but it’s hard to find a decent one for dry skin like mine – everything looks cakey or blotchy whereas I like dewy luminous skin.

Therefore, I was a bit dubious about Benefit’s latest addition; The Porefessional Agent Zero Shine Powder – it sounded a little – extreme.

As always with Benefit; extremely cute packaging:

This loose powder in an unusual container is supposed to minimise shine, smooth the appearance of pores and look invisible on the skin.

The container is like this – quite gimmicky, but not as tricky to use as it looks – actually, it’s handier to carry around than a large container with loose powder.

Simply twist off the brush from the base, tap powder into the lid and tap the brush.  This can be used to touch up throughout the day too, if you get shiny.

Whilst this is a handy way to carry around loose powder, having to unscrew and tap powder in the lid is of course a 2 handed job, so perhaps still not one to apply in transit to work!

So the powder itself looks yellow toned and quite heavy, but blends away nicely without looking too thick.  It’s also very good at mattifying as the name suggests and it did an ok job on concealing pores too although I wouldn’t reply on it solely for pore cover.

I usually just powder around the t-zone or where I want to set my make up. The problem with this powder is that it is so good at mattifying (there therefore dulling the skin somewhat) that I had super glowing cheeks, and a dry looking t-zone!

Here is the powder – which I think blends away quite nicely but if you use to much, it leaves a slightly pale cast on the skin. There’s just 7g in the product.

Verdict:

A nice powder for people who really suffer from oily skin to set make up and to keep it matte throughout the day, although it is a little fiddly to use, you have the added benefit of pore coverage. It just depends on if you want the problem of unscrewing it etc every time you want to reapply it!
