I have never heard of the Beauty Kitchen brand before I was sent these products – but man, they are 100% up my street. From their ethos, to their packaging, to the products themselves.
Beauty Kitchen is British made and focuses on natural ingredients at affordable prices. A “natural” product by their standards, is an ingredient that hasn’t been through a chemical process and only goes through 1-2 natural processes to get to it’s useable state. Also, a product that is labelled natural can contain as little as 1% natural ingredients! So, at Beauty Kitchen, they only use 100% natural!
I have been testing the Seahorse Plankton Beauty Boosting BB Cream (£14.99) and 5 Minute Miracle Mask (£14.99).
But what on earth is Seahorse Plankton?!
Seahorse plankton microalgae is an ingredient that detoxes, stimulates, firms and plumps the skin. No seahorses are hurt during the process! 1% of sales of this range goes to the Seahorse Trust.
To use, put a think layer over your face, neck and décolletage, and leave it for 5-15 minutes. Wash off.
I have used this a few times and it is lovely. Very comforting and soothing for my dry skin. I left it on for longer with no adverse effects. My skin was glowing afterwards. It has a very light texture that sinks in (on my skin) it’s almost like a moisturiser.
The BB cream comes in one shade only and blends in to fit most skin types. As it’s a BB cream it’s not really about coverage – it creates more of a ‘blur’ effect and evens things out slightly, making the skin look smoother and glowing. It is NOT a foundation – I repeat – so it is not going to cover lots of redness or blemishes. It is great as a lazy day every day skin cream, it’s easy and effortless so good for those days where you’re not that bothered about looking perfect but just want to look better.
