Perhaps I reviewed Heroine Make mascara many moons ago; I forget, but since they tend to renew their formula at times I thought it was worth doing a quick re-review.
I finished my much loved Rimmel Forever Shape mascara (it is only sold in Japan so it a real problem for me to get as its not accessible online) so had to go back to another tried and trusted mascara. Heroine Make is a safe bet for most things, their liquid liner is excellent as are their mascaras for ASIAN lashes. They release bundles from time to time, which is what I bought for an extra £1 or so, I got a mascara remover with it:
This newer formula is supposed to be EXTRA waterproof, which I find hard to fathom because it’s already ridiculously waterproof. Japanese waterproof mascara (pretty much all of them, due to the Asian eye shape which is more likely to caused smudged mascara on the lids) is bomb proof. It’s truly truly waterproof in any condition.
Is that a good thing?
Well, I attempted normal water resistant mascara recently and ended up looking like a panda. I guess I took for granted how much I need a waterproof mascara – my eyes tend to run in the day too.
These mascaras are so waterproof that you need an exceptional eye make up remover. Normal stuff won’t cut it. Most of the stuff you buy from Boots won’t remove it either.
Here is the mascara – volume version has the curved brush, long has a straight brush.
One thing I know for sure is that Heroine Make mascara holds curl. You don’t get much volume from this (Their Impact Frame mascara is better for that) but at least it’s not clumpy and does leave a nice finish.
The mascara remover that comes with it works a charm but if you can’t always be bothered, I know I can’t, use Softymo Eye Make Up Remover, which is brilliant.
Pictures of the mascara – oh – with it being waterproof, it does dry a little ‘hard’, you won’t be able to layer it or stroke it lovingly. The hardness helps keep the curl so it’s just something you have to live with.
