Afterspa is a specialist bath and body care brand which has just launched in the UK – their full range is available in the US from Walmart (they have some really lovely looking body scrubs and bath products I hope they bring over here) but at the moment, they are giving us some of their cleansing accessories, so to speak.
Their launches in the UK include the Facial Micro Scrubber (£6.50) a compact flannel type exfoliating massage mitten, a Round Dual Texture Scrubber (£6.50) which can be used to exfoliate the whole body – one side soft and the other firmer, the Magic Make Up Remover (£5.50) which is a soft flannel which is able to remove make up without a remover and lasts 1000 washes. Then there are the Cleansing Puffs (£6.50) which I am reviewing today.
You get two Cleansing Puffs in one pack – they are made for gently cleansing and exfoliating your face on a daily basis. They feel like a fine mesh to me, not unlike some cleansing scrubs you can get for general cleaning – ok that sounds bad. But these are actually a very affordable alternative for people who can’t or don’t want to buy a cleansing device.
You get two of these egg shaped rounds and the best thing to do is to get them quite wet, and use with a cleanser. Because I have quite sensitive skin and this is quite scrubby, I didn’t find it soft enough to work on my cheeks. It works REALLY well for flakes I get around the nose, which drives me nuts. Using this keeps the skin nicely clear of flakes and ready for a bit of erm, extracting. I use the Foreo face cleansing device and that’s great for the face but it is so gentle it doesn’t really get rid of flakes.
I also preferred it for areas like the heels, and anywhere that the skin is not so sensitive.
Another cute feature is that you get a sucker to attach the pouch, if you wish, the the wall or mirror.
All in all, this is an inexpensive tool for if you feel like your cleansing needs a kick up the backside, but be aware it is not for sensitive skin.
Boots have them for £6
