Me, Baby H and Mr C recently visited Legoland, Windsor to attend the Lego Duplo World of Play Event – and it was a really entertaining day out! Driving for 4 hours to get there, we were greeted at the themed Lego hotel (a child’s dream with everything from Lego patterned walls and carpets, and a pit of…well, lego!) where the little ones played with Duplo at little play stations and basically got a chance […]
Archives for March 2014
I am going to presume you have never been on YouTube or watched beauty videos on YouTube before; if this is the case then you will not have heard of Wayne Goss, and maybe you’re now thinking WHEN, WILL I? WILL I BE FAMOUSSSSSSSS? No. Ok, I’ll shut up now. Wayne Goss is a make up artist with over 15 years of experience who is particularly successful on YouTube. I am partial to the odd Goss […]
Aerin Lauder’s newest collection for Spring 2014 is a collection of wearable, soft and pretty Rose Balm lipsticks (the rose lip conditioner form the brand is AMAZING, one of my favourites), a Rose Balm which is made up of over 350 Rose Petals, a brush kit and a face palette. I have the palette and a Rose Balm Lipstick to review! The Aerin collection I feel, very much feels like part of the Estee Lauder […]
Aloha! Following my skincare trial with Environ products (started here, and here, updated here) I think this is one of the most disciplined I have been with a skincare regime for a long time. Now to update you with my follow up Visia skincare scan, to see what differences the products have made to my skin. Mary is the manager on Environ, and is a throughly knowledgable and nice advisor on all things Environ. She […]
Some beauty products are so iconic that they are just permanently scorched on to our brains, as we all know what they are without even realising it. TOUCHE ECLAT; we all know what that is don’t we? Click, click, the magic highlighting pen. I remember buying one years ago on a student budget and being incredible economical with it because it was out of my price range really, but I had to try it. Back […]
Even though I don’t have a ton of time to style my hair these days, I am still always up for a fancy hair styling tool – and I was rather taken by Nicky Clarke’s new Roller Pod. The roller pod is a stand alone, small unit, which heats up the roller individually. I have various rollers already, such as some Babyliss ones I ADORE but they are a nightmare to transport anywhere, as […]
There are more and more high street beauty brands offering light textured but highly pigmented lip colours, and L’Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinaire Lip Colours are one of the newest on offer. There are 16 shades in total, and these glosses provide colour and shine. I am a sucker for a new lip colour. BRING ON THE EXTRAORDINAIRE!!!! I have 3 shades here to review. Each lip gloss in provided in a pale gold container, in […]
This is basically an update to the skincare trial I have been…er…..trialling, which is a large selection of products from Environ. My introductory post is here, and also the funky facial I had with the brand is here. Now, this coming week I will be returning to the Environ counter for a skin scan, using the Visia machine (same as this one at Elemis) to see what difference using their skincare has made. I will document […]
Over the last few weeks, I have been working with eBay on a new feature to the UK site, called Collections. eBay’s new collection feature is a way for users (sellers and buyers) to share some of their favourite finds by creating interest ‘boards’ in any type of genre or theme. All you have to do is find items you like and add them to a ‘collection’ you have created – it could be an […]
There are definitely advantages to having a dedicated under eye concealer; lighter texture, light reflecting properties, hydrating qualities etc. I am partial to a liquid concealer (I love Nars, Jill Stuart, Origins in particular) but they are for my facial blemishes. I was pleased to try this eye concealer from luxe brand, Sisley, which is especially made for the under eye area. They say: This tinted concealer instantly camouflages dark circles and shadows to perfection, reduces puffiness […]
Melvita is fast becoming one of my favourite brands for reasonably priced, eco-friendly, natural cleansers. Their range is vast with textures and formulas for all skin types. I’ve tried a large selection from the range, most recently two products from their Bouquet Floral Cleansing Range which comes in these snazzy plastic blue bottles: Those cleansers are extra gentle and contain orange blossom floral extract. There’s a milk cleanser, cleansing jelly, foam cleanser, Micellar water, Cleansing […]
I really love using rich body oils that sink nicely into the skin after a shower (dry oils I have realised, don’t really suit my skin) so was happy to try out this Dermaoil product, which feels like it’s in the same vein as Bio Oil – it’s for skin repair and stretch marks. They say: Dermaoil Skin Repair & Anti-Stretchmark Oil is a topical specialist skincare product for anti-ageing, scars and stretch marks.Contains breakthrough […]
One of Bobbi Brown’s newer eyeliner additions is the Smokey Kajal Liners. I absolutely love eyeliners – it’s just an obsession I have, so was rather excited to try out these new releases. These Kajals are quite interesting to say the least. There are six shades; They say: “A new take on tradition-Bobbi’s inspiration for this highly pigmented, incredibly blendable formula comes from classic kohl eyeliners. Her reason? This richly coloured liner can be applied […]
I have been testing some new bath and body products from a UK based brand called Peculiar People – created by Deborah, who started the business due to her love of making handmade high quality products. I have 3 products here to review; Heavenly Hosts Soap, Mango Face Mask and Whipped Body Butter. Interesting fact: Peculiar People is actually a biblical reference (I didn’t know this!).
Oh Jill Stuart. You create the most beautiful looking lipsticks in glossy textures, that are hard to resist. The newest lipstick to join the Jill Stuart family is ‘Lip Blossom’ and debuts with 10 shades. I adored their last lipstick releases – the texture is gorgeous – so I presumed this would be a winner too.
I am so happy, happy, happy, that I have Jo Malone’s Violets and Wisteria in my life. Why, I have a substantial perfume collection, but scents that I truly truly truly love are few and far between. But Violets and Wisteria? It speaks to me. It is very me. For reference, I love light floral and tea based scents, with a hint of musk. I’ve had this scent for months but i’ve waited till now […]
Magnetic Nudes from MAC is a collection of lip, cheek, eye and skin colours with a rich, metallic, smokey, rich edge. I have a selection of products here to review; So what did I think of this vast collection?
I was recently sent some super cute hair ties (bobbles – whatever you want to call them) and they have been sparkling away in my hair for the last few weeks! I do generally wear my hair down but there’s always times when I need to have my hair up because it’s just less in the way but I keep losing my bobbles. These Hair Ties from MyKitch come in a huge variety of designs […]
