A few weeks ago I bought a deal from Living Social for Chiang Mai Thai, a Thai Massage place not too far from me (is anyone else finding some of these ‘deal’ sites impossible in terms of getting appointments and once your there, getting a good level of service?). I have been dying to try some traditional Thai massage out for a while now so rather excitedly booked an appointment. Well…it was HARD work. You […]
Innisfree is a Korean brand I have been paying a lot of attention to lately – they seem to focus on lots of yummy skincare and some cute make up too but without the jovial quality of Etude House or Skinfood. Innisfree Rose Marbling Blushers look gorgeous and come in three shades – I am missing the white one (it was out of stock). Instead I bought 01 Pink Rose, 02 Peach Rose: To be […]
It’s that time again where I’ve decided I am bored of my hair colour and want to do something different with it! I am torn between 3 different hues of hair this time! I’ve experimented with all 3 in the past but I can’t decide what would be best for Spring. My choices: 1. Reddish Brown I don’t really go for red anymore, in fact I love cool toned hair and spend a lot of […]
The gorgeous Suka & Spice sent me the most amazing parcel of coffee creamers (an obsession of mine) and she also snuck in this Wet ‘n’ Wild palette. I’ve never seen these before, but they’re called Color Icon Palettes. This is number 249 which is Vanity – a mixture of gold and browns. What I was expecting? Nothing much really – a half decent neutral palette… Closer look:
Mod Squad is an uber nude retro shade, a pale pale pink: I have to admit I am a sucker for this kind of shade even though it’s a difficult colour to wear. I love it though! What do you think? Too nude?
Nail Mente? What’s a Nail Mente? I DON’T KNOW!!! Japanese product have a habit of creating some strangely named ranges. Kiss Me’s Nail Mente range is one of them. Consisting of four products so far (Nail Treatment, Nail Hardener, Quick Dry Liquid and Gel Finsh Top Coat) I bought a few things to try because it looks so cute! So where shall we start? My nails grow fast, they grow fairly strong but recently, perhaps […]
Wanna? from Benefit’s Full Finish lipstick range looks like a hot pink in the tube: On me, it because a soft purple pink! Quite unusual but pretty nevertheless: I just don’t wear dramatic lip shades that much though. What do you think?
This is my first ever purchase from Banila Co which I believe is a Korean brand. It’s a fairly expensive cosmetics brand but I thought I’d try something out from the range. This palette is about £16 retail, I paid about £23 for it from eBay including shipping. Banila Co seem to release these palettes occasionally – I chose one called Tokyo Scandal: I think the box is extremely cute! Here is the lid…
I don’t really use eBay for auction purchases any more, but I spotted a cute Lulu Guinness Make Up Bag (always wanted one but they cost £55) so thought I’d try to bid for it. I won! It came in the original box! The seller said there was a small watermark on it but it’s barely visible! Yay! And how much did I win it for?….
I Think I Love You from Benefit is a brown-plum-shimmery shade: It doesn’t look that hot in the tube but it actually looks quite nice on my lips (I think!) sort of a muted brown plum. Goes to show it’s worth trying a colour on your lips. What do you think?
I saw some Korres stuff in a sale so decided to indulge in 2 lip liners and glosses! I got one in Orange, and Golden Bronze with matching lip liners! They say: Hydrating, non-sticky lip gloss with cherry and jojoba oils, offering an intense, luminous effect, available in 10 fabulous colours. Dermatologically tested, free of mineral oils, silicone, propylene glycol and ethanolamine. These usually retail for around £12 so I was please to get them […]
Benefit full finish lipstick in Pinking of You is a nude, shimmer free pale colour. It works out to be quite a creamy nude pink on me, quite wearable although you need a few coats to get even coverage: I imagine on a fairer girl the pink would be richer toned. What do you think of this shade?
I’ve bought a few things from Tony Moly, all in interesting packaging, like the coffee cup and the egg – now I have an ice cream! The Ice Queen range has a few different things, some face masks but I chose this Sun Cream (SPF 30). They Say: It protects skin from UVA and UVB and prevents aging. It cuts off harmful effects of cosmetics and air pollution on skin to prevents skin irritation, blackheads and […]
Pinking Of You wouldn’t be my first choice of the Benefit pink – it’s sort of a sorbet pink, the kind of shade I imagine would look gorgeous on blondes but fade into nothing on me. Actually it’s not bad, and more pigmented than I expected – I wouldn’t call it full finish though, whilst it’s creamy it’s not opaque like say, YSL Rouge Volupte which is very full finish… It’s sort of an orange […]
One Japanese beauty trend that I love but find a little hard to wear, is the milky lip look – quite often achieved with the use of lip concealer and gloss on top, it’s not a million miles away from a Kim Kardashian lip that she pairs with a smoky eye. A quick and easy way to get it (and a product I forsee getting rather popular) is a 2 in 1 lip concealer and […]
Flirt Alert is indeed a flirty shade, an extremely hot orange red: I think this is lovely on the lips with high coverage but not too creamy and gooey, thus less prone to smudging: What do you think?
I’ve been on a Becca kick lately and just totally fell in love with the imagery from the latest collection, Fallen Angel. Heavenly looking, light-dappled skin casts an eternal spell, while dramatically dark eyes dance with wonder and mystery. Cheeks are tinged with desire in a soft tawny peach as honeyed lips tempt and allure. Gorge! I bought two of the palettes, Enigma (eye) and Fallen Angel (lip). I for one prefer the palettes like […]
I first caught wind of the Pantene Colour Seal Concentrate product at this evening event, where the Dr Frauke Neuser showed us how by using this concentrate on the hair for just 2 minutes made it ‘waterproof’ so to speak by forming a protective seal over the hair. Dyed hair sunk in water, hair treated with this stuff, did not. FINALLY! The product has been launched: They say: The NEW Pantene Pro-V Colour Protect Colour […]
I picked up two Korres Mandarin Lip Butters from the ASOS sale – I think they cost £3.90 which is quite a big discount from the retail price. I bought it in pink and peach. I am a fan of the Mango Butter lip balms in the pot – they are quite pigmented and rather lovely in texture too! They Say: Lip butter with sun protection that instantly hydrates and softens the lips. Shea butter […]
I keep discovering new Korean make up to try out, especially high end ones and Hera is one of my discoveries. Hera Multi Shimmering Pact is one of the prettiest palettes I have ever seen: I believe it is a fairly high end brand as this palette cost me £26. There’s also a pink version of this that can be used as a blusher. The case is a little bit cheap, it’s plastic and quite […]
